Its Amazing lake what a beauty of this lake. Actually is reservoir and its converted into beautiful treck. Here you can see both sunset as well sunrise beautiful historical manmade structure here you can see Sandhamadh , Rankala treck . Rankala tower, shalini palace, and natural beautiful path back side Rankala known as Partala. Lots of birds. Here you can enjoying food, boating,horse riding, even shopping D mart is there. Around Rankala lots of Garden there. So here beautiful lake with lots oxygen. Proud of kolhapur must visit see in photos.

Beautiful historical place. A larger than life-size lake. Well developed by Marathas but ignored by today's local governing body. There is so much of scope to develop the area surrounded by as for leisure activity. Not at all well maintained ! Street food available here is a must. Try bhel and faluda.

'Rankala Water Reservoir' is located on the western side of 'Shree Mahalaxmi Temple' of Kolhapur city; it is around 1.5 KM away from the temple. The lake is nicely maintained; the water is clean and free from any plastic waste. Lakeside is developed with the beautiful walkways & lush green gardens. On the east side of lake, there is a beautiful 'Rankala tower'. There are number of gardens namely 'Shalini palace garden', 'Padpath garden' and 'New garden Rankala'. On the west side of the lake there is a beautiful 'Shalini palace'. Boating facility is also available at the west side of the lake. The lake is very popular among the people in Kolhapur for morning & evening walk. In the evening there are a number of street hawkers selling various street food items. It is the best place to visit with your friends or family in the evening, you can easily spend & enjoy 1-2 hours here with your family.

The Kolhapur's Pride, Rankala lake...must visit place whenever one visits kolhapur, hardly 1.5km from Mahalakshmi temple, we prefer to walk along, road was straight from Mahalakshmi temple as shown on maps. As its a rainy season, water level is very high, high breeze was flowing, rain was like showering, full romantic environment, crowd was less as i reached there around 3.30pm. being rainy season, the walk way was clean. I enjoyed being there.

A very huge nice and peaceful lake perfect for your evening or night walk. Snacks counter for grabbing a quick bite offer variety of snacks from dosa to Chinese to icecreams as a dessert option.

This is one place at Kolhapur which can be skipped by tourists or travelers or visitors. If not, then keep this place for the end. It is just a reservoir, a water storage. But if you're a local resident or if you're a tourist and have ample of time left with you then you can visit this place. Early morning and evening would be the best time to be there. Sunrise and sunsets are best to see here.

The iconic Rankala Talaw of Kolhapur. Yes it was pleasure to watch. The location is pretty good. The garden around is big. For most part it is clean. Water looks clean. Boating facility is there. Food around here is good. Just don't try vadapav here it's bad and I don't see any chances of improvement soon. Overall a great experience.

Nominal prices. Boating : Multiple options available. Speed boat, padle boat. Ferry boat etc. Charges little higher. Jogging Track : Available Lake is clean and maintained.
