It is a good place to spend 2..3 hours. You can get a good feel of nature and its sounds.
You can enjoy a small boat ride as well.
The lake water is totally untidy. The approach road is also not well. Good for boating activity and for clicking photos.
Ranijhel is a good family park with a range of enjoyable water activities for kids. However, attention needs to be given to the cleaning and maintenance of the toilets, as well as the provision of separate facilities for girls. By addressing these issues, the park would undoubtedly provide an even better experience for all visitors.
Rani Jheel is an artificial lake and one of the popular tourist spot in Ranikhet in the Almora district of Uttarakhand. This small lake was initially constructed by the cantonment board of Indian army for the purpose of rainwater harvesting but now primarily used for boating. Perched at an altitude of 2,500 meters, the lake has now become one of the iconic landmarks of the region. The place exuberates a calmness and serenity that will surely capture nature lovers'imagination.
Though the place is maintained by Cantonment board the washrooms are in a very bad condition but overall the area is clean.
Boating is one of the famous things to do in Rani Jheel. However, due to the relatively small size of the lake only few Paddle boats are available here. The costing is based on the size of the boat (2 seater costs around Rs100 and 4 seater is Rs150).
Apart from that there are few swings for kids to enjoy and a balloon ride in water where kids as well as adults can go (this costs Rs150/- per person).
It is a small lake with dirty water with lots of fishes. However, there is no smell in the water. There are a limited paddle (2/4 persons) boats. There is a selfie point and zip line.
It was my first visit and it was good experience, also the weather was pleasant that time.
Nice place to spend 3-4 hours. In middle of lush greens of pine trees.
Boating is bit unsafe. They even dont have enough life guards.
Nice and quite place but when we went their was very less water in Rani Lake and all the boats were closed. Overall okay.
