Rani Tal is a man made lake at the centre of this hilly town. As the story goes the king made it in the memory of his beloved queen when she left for the heavenly abode. The municipal corporation of Nahan has done a good job in maintaining it. There is a kids playing area in the campus and also a small Shiva temple. There are sufficient trees providing shade to the benches that are kept in the park. Nice place for morning walk or a casual stroll. Boating is not very exciting but none the less is available

Rani Tal, Nahan Rani Tal, also known as Queen's Lake is located in the heart of Nahan town. It is a huge pond supposed to e in existence from the days of ex-rulers of Sirmaur state. Water birds like Ducks and cranes often spotted in the Ranital pond. A beautifully crafted Garden adds to the charm of the place. Rani Tal is a wonderful picnic spot or leisure gaming destination for solo travellers as well as for families. One can relax in the garden or walk around the garden. The lake has a variety of fishes. The pond is also is the habitat of turtles. One can easily feed both turtles and fishes. There is a small cave, the passage of which that is supposed to lead to the King's Palace and was used in ancient days by the Queen to come to this pond to have bath hence the pond got the name Rani Tal. There is small temple dedicated to Goddess Lata Devi. A statue of Lord Shiva is also located at the edge of the pond. There are a couple of paddle boats to boat around the lake. There are two temples around the pond, the ancient poorly maintained Ramkundi Shiva temple and the well maintained multiple linga Shiva Temple. There Is a walkers path, and many trees around the taal. Though there was a provision for parking the vehicles, there was no sufficient car park area available, because the taal is on the main road where busses also ply; and vehicles of locals were also parked in the parking area. As a tourist, I would say, this place could be good for residents of the town but not memorable for me however Rudraksh temple inside was too good.
Perfect place in the middle of city. Car parking is a problem, but some private parkings can be an alternative. Narrow roads. Always be some extra conscious
Beautiful park with an auspicious temple in middle along with a duck pond. Must visit on shivratri
