This is another enormous premises located in Trichy, Srirangam. Unfortunately when we arrived in the afternoon the inner sanctum was closed and was opening at 6.00 PM. We would have been late if we waited until that time. But we took a stroll in the premises itself and felt very peaceful. Only one temple was open for the quick darshan but even that queue was huge for us to wait. The enormous gopuram is colourful and has one after the other on all 4 sides.
The abode of a deity often described as Nam Perumal and Azahagiya Manavaalan, Tamil for "our god" and "beautiful groom", the magnificent Ranganathaswamy Temple is home to Lord Ranganatha, a form of Lord Vishnu in a reclining pose.
Considered as one of the eight sywayambu kshetras of Lord Vishnu as per Alwar - the tradition of Tamil Nadu's poet saints - its glory has seen it become the only temple to have been praised by all of them in their hymns. Together, they created as many as 247 pasurams or hymns in praise of the temple and its presiding deity.
The temple is very good and it is very well maintained. You have to spend at least two hours to see all the full Temple. 100 Rs Special Dharshan ticket is available. But the Tragedy is you have to keep exact change of 100 Rs of you are a solo traveler. Why can't the temple management display QR Codes so that we will utilize the waiting time and keep going.. Will the Management consider this?.

The Ranganatha Swamy Temple stands as a masterpiece of Dravidian architecture, a style that has withstood the test of time. The intricate carvings adorning the temple's exterior are a sight to behold, telling stories of ancient epics and mythological tales. The towering gopurams (entrance towers) adorned with vibrant sculptures draw visitors into a world of awe and wonder even before setting foot inside.
Very beautiful temple, the idol of the temple is very beautiful, we visited around 4 pm in the evening, free darshan took around 1 hour, not much of the queue, queue was getting formed as darshna were stopped for few minutes, there is an elephant near main door...
Overall visit to this place is worth....
A must visit place, provides for a unique experience. However the challenge is parking. You get to park around the temple, and may have to wait and go several rounds before you cam get a space. Also access to the temple and the way is confusing. The roads are not well marked and you will get lost due to the several concentric circle of roads around the temple that you have to navigate through before you can escape.
