Rana Ratan Singh Palace - Featured Reviews (533)
Visited Apr 2023. Parts of this palace have been restored by the ASI. Still a interesting place to explore. Nice views from the top. Overlooks a lake. There is a nice temple right next door. Not as crowded as the other places in Chittorgarh. Worth a visit. Ticketed. If you are here a bit early (or late ;-) and the gate is locked, go to the temple next to the palace. At the rear of the temple is a small door that leads into the palace.
The Rana Ratan Palace was the winter palace of the former Merwar Royal Family that was built on the orders of Ratan Singh II who reigned from 1527 to 1531. Though this place is remains of the palace but I liked this place very much. The enclosing high walls and the skeletal remains of the interior rooms. The palace is set far to the north of the Chittorgarh palace complex, but in a beautiful setting right next to an artificial lake. The sad part is that this place is not well maintained and we should restore our history by simply maintaining such places.
Though this place is remains of the palace but I liked this place very much. If ruins/remains of this palace look amazingly beautiful then imagine how beautiful this palace looks ages ago. The sad part is that this place is not well maintained and we should restore our history by simply maintaining such places. Every part of this palace is so beautiful that I couldn't resist me clicking so many pictures.
Rana Ratan Palace is an absolute gem of a place on the chittorgarh fort tour. It's at the very end and I'd say saving the best for the last. Yes, it is in ruins but it's still very intact, we found this hidden room inside with a really really deep well, went up some stairs and found a room. A lot of discover. There's a small lake outside, the view of the palace there is also beautiful. Do not miss out on this one!
This is place of raja ratan singh 1528-31 AD) This palace was built by Ratan Singh II. Rahneshwar is rectangular situated along the pond and is surrounded by high wall on all sides, in the east direction is the main entrance of the palace with arches, with chhatris. The courtyard of the pillar on two sides of the pond with Jahal deoris is equipped with verandahs, rooms, all around. Darikhana is located and opens in the eastern part. To the north of the main entrance is the temple of Rataneshwar Mahadev, which is equipped with a sanctum, antarala and a mandapa. The exterior of the temple has beautiful ornamentation. The Rana Ratan Palace was the winter palace of the former Merwar Royal Family that was built on the orders of Ratan Singh II who reigned from 1527 to 1531. The palace is is mostly ruins, but still retains the rectangular plan, the enclosing high walls and the skeletal remains of the interior rooms. The palace is set far to the north of the Chittorgarh palace complex, but in a beautiful setting right next to an artificial lake. In comparison to the many other structures inside the fort complex, this palace is little visited. I had insisted that my auto driver take me here in addition to the standard itinerary all drivers in the city use and it was well worth it.
View from there is awesome As per name of the king not a very epic fort but over all these little things makes fort so much incredible
Maharana Ratan Singh II was the son of Rana Sanga. He succeeded the throne after the death of his father. He served as the Maharana of a very short span of time from 1528 to 1531. Maharana Ratan Singh II during his lifetime had built a beautiful palace within the fort of Chittorgarh as a winter abode for the Royal family.

Beautiful place. The door at the entrance is mind boggling with the spikes still attatched to it to prevent the elephants back in the day. We view is great and the history of the place makes it better. Not to be missed on the fort tour.
