We visited the mountain on 29 Sep 23. The mountain was not offered a worthy trek as the half of the steep had a cemented path. Then you need to climb the mountain for at least 01 km which is not that much adventurous. Ramshej is one of the least adventurous mountains which doesn't offer much. The area has paid parking, which takes 40 rupees for a four wheeler vehicle and 20 for two wheels. You will find a guy selling lemon water on the top of the mountain which is not satisfying. The view from the top is not very engaging compared to the other mountains in the Nashik area. The mountain has 2-3 small caves having "shiv ling" and "Nandi" in it. Before reaching the top of the mountain you will see a temple having a "deep cave" along with a temple. On top you will see 2 ponds which are dirty in the month of September. The road from Nashik to Ramshej is full of gutters and will not make you satisfied. The place is covered with lush greenery and has many grape farms. Although the mountains are not a worthy trek but can be trekked once. When you plan for the trip ,go on rainy days in the early morning hours so that you can watch clouds nearby.

Ramshej Fort is located in the Nashik region. Easy for trekking. The base village is Ashewadi. A parking lot is available at the starting point of the trek. It took 30-45 minutes to reach the top of the fort. The main attractions of the fort are Ram Mandir, Water reservoirs, Devi Mandir, Main Darwaja, Secret door. Enjoy

Superb Fort, one of the great places where Maratha Army showed their strength against the Aurangzeb army and showed face for defeat. One can see how Maratha's used this forts height and make it as strength to win the battels against the thousands of Mughal Army resources with hundreds of Maratha warriors.. Trek difficulty type Medium, it is slightly slippery in Monsoon season, rest time it is easy to climb.

Ramshej Fort, a hill fort in Dindori, about 12 km from Nasik, is located at an altitude of 3273 feet above sea level, on the Peth mountain range along the Nashik-Vapi road. Ashewadi, the town at the base is 8 km away from Nashik. It is believed that during his exile, Lord Rama had made this spot his dwelling place for a while. The construction of the Fort has been traced to between the ninth and eleventh centuries. The main purpose of the Fort was the collection of taxes on the way to Khandesh in north western Maharashtra and Gujarat. The Fort gains its importance because of its location, as it marks the route dispatching from and arriving to Nashik. In 1682, Aurangzeb dispatched a Mughal force under the command of Shahabuddin, to capture the Ramshej fort. This confrontation lasted for six to seven years and despite the military superiority of the Mughals in terms of men and ammunition, the killedar of Ramshej managed to defend it. After continuous resistance, Chhatrapati Sambhaji's forces led by Hambirrao Mohite eventually saw victory and the Mughal forces retreated. Today a trekker's paradise, Ramshej Fort is especially popular as a monsoon trek and offers a fascinating view of the Trimbak, Satmala and Bhorgad peaks.

This fort is best remembered for its fight against Mugals. Very pleasant air on fort. Nice views of city of Nashik. Though the height is not much, it is a little bit difficult to climb. Path way up to half the distance is okay. Not many facilities are available on Fort. Carry your own water. It's worth visiting once.
