Ramprasad Kali Mandir. - Hindu temple in Kanchrapara - 24 Paraganas North, India

Nice place for pilgrims. One of the famous maa Kali temples in West Bengal. Well maintained neat and clean, management is also good. I visited Kali Puja during the time hundreds of pilgrims visited there. I liked that pond and the turtles in it.

One upon a time Ramprasad lives in this place. If you are coming then definitely go for sandhya arati. Ganga ghat is 4 to 5 min walking distance. Jai Maa Kali.

A beautiful place to worship Maa Kali, this place is known and has been shown in many television serials and has a rich history. If you are planning to visit this place you can come via Local train or even by bus. Visit Shop number 6, the lady is good and hardworking and has been helping a lot of devotees here.

It's a very calm and peaceful devotional place to visit. It opens in 7am of morning. We spend beautiful time there, by roaming around the place and the pond nearby. There was little turtles and fishes in the pond they're so cute and satisfying to gazing at them. It's around 4km distance from the railway station and so many ghats around the city.... Do visit once, you'll surely love it!!

This historical south facing temple of Goddess Kali ( Ma Jagadeswari ) is at the residence ( Bastuvita ) of great saint - poet Ramprasad Sen ( 1720 AD - 1781 AD ) at Shiber Gali , Halisahar. In past Halisahar was known as Kumarhatta. The shrine is Bangla dalan style on raised plinth with a porch in front of gorvamandir. One spacious natmandir in front of the main shrine. This is a place of Shakti cult and saint - poet Ramprasad started meditation of devine mother day after day at Panchabati and Panchamundasan and thus he attended devine grace of Ma Jagadeswari. Sadhak Kabi wrote more than 500 devotional songs . Those are known as famous Ramprasad Sangeet in Bengali literature. Ramprasad bathing ghat at the bank of river Bhagirathi is another sacred place of Hindu religious people as Sadhak Kabi disappeared here with his mother's image ( Ma Jagadeswari) on head. Both the temple and bathing ghat are the places of attraction of devotees for spiritual and historical interest. Annual religious festivals are : 1. Annakuit utsab ( 26th January every year) 2. Snan Yatra ( Day before Rath Yatra) This is the prathistha dibas of the image of Ma Jagadeswari. 3. Annual Kali puja ( Dwipannita Night) Last but not the least , Halisahar Goodwill Fraternity is a famous organization that engaged on valuable works on Sadhak Ramprasad Sen and history of Halisahar.
