Dhanushkodi, in my point of view, is an enchanting destination that offers a mesmerizing blend of history, spirituality, and natural beauty. As I stood at the tip of this ghost town, I was captivated by the remnants of its glorious past. The dilapidated buildings and the rusted remains of the railway station spoke volumes about the devastating cyclone that once swept through this place. It was both haunting and awe-inspiring to witness the resilience of nature amidst the ruins. The pristine beaches of Dhanushkodi added a touch of serenity to my experience. The turquoise blue waters and the soft, golden sand created a picturesque setting that was hard to resist. I found solace in taking long walks along the shoreline, with the gentle breeze caressing my face. The sight of fishermen going about their daily routines, surrounded by the breathtaking backdrop of the Bay of Bengal, left an indelible impression on my mind. Overall, Dhanushkodi is a hidden gem that transports you to a bygone era. Its historical significance, coupled with the ethereal beauty of its surroundings, make it a must-visit destination for those seeking a unique and soul-stirring experience.
It was such an exciting place to visit. Indian Ocean and Bay of Bengal sea are meeting here. I have never seen it before. You can see different water colour. Must visit if you are going to Rameswaram.
Good one and I would say must visit everyone in their lifetime... Recommended to go on your transport. Public transport is available but not often... Don't carry use & throw plastic things, there is a check post to check and give a token of 20rs for each item and you can claim while returning but it is time-consuming... Recommend to visit during sunrise and it is pleasant to watch... A lot of parking spaces are available you can park and enjoy the views... For a better peaceful environment, visit during weekdays... During weekends, I encountered around 80 to 100 vehicles at 5.45 am... P.S: Please don't throw any waste there especially non-degradable, I can see a lot of plastics and broken bottles. I don't want you to clean it(if u do, great) but don't contribute towards the dump.
This is considered as India's last road. We visited during evening time and enjoyed mesmerising sunset. If you have time try to go early in the morning, you will get less crowd. Also it closes around at 6 or 7 pm in evening.
Awesome sea beach there are fish stalls too but at night you can get to eat
Wonderful road experience in my life.
You will see both Bay of Bengal and Indian Ocean here.A cyclone destroyed the entire city in 1964 & city shifted to current Rameshwaram..at present there is a beautiful road in between the sea..the most beautiful place of India..
Wonderful place to see and sea. Visit early morning. After 11 o'clock it's too hot.
