It is run by the monks of Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math. It runs a Students' Home for less privileged but meritorious college going male students with 65% free boarders. It also runs a WB Govt. sponsored polytechnic institution ( Diploma in Engg.) with only day students in a sprawling and very well-maintained gardens and sports fields. They also carry out welfare activities like free medical dispensary, 16 free coaching centres at various parts of the State, nutrition & free tuition programme for poor children etc. as are the regular norms of any RKM Centres. Has a small temple with prayer hall for the religious minded and devotees of Sri Ramakrishna- Ma Sarada - Swamiji.
