Get DTPC tied Jeep to view around ramakalmedu. Costs 1600. The ride is a bit scary but completely doable for everyone. You stand 3600 feet above sea level which offers a commanding view of tamilnadu. On the way you get to see amapara, which is one hell of experience for crossing between rocks. And finally the Jeep drops you at statues.

It's a beautiful off shoot scenic destination. The place has a cultural link to the hindu mythology of Ramayana wherein it's claimed that Rama climbed over this rocky outcrop while on his quest to find Sita. The place also gives a chance for those who love trekking. The jeep rides available in the area will take you to the base of the rock from where it's a near half an hour trek to the top of the rocky outcrop. The place being right on the border of two states means that from this location you can see Kerala on one side and Tamilnadu on the other. The trek closes down during monsoons as it becomes too risky to climb up the slippery slopes so best time to visit is in the winters or upto May.
There is a suiside point. Jeeps are going there. Those who are interested can also go trekking through the forest (only 2km).
It is an amazing place for jeep trekking.......What you are going to get is a very good experience here. Above you can see a beautiful view of Kambam Theni. Paddy fields, temples and houses are clearly visible. There are no security measures (fence, security wall) so be careful while standing on the edge of the rock. It does not seem to be a place for children. On the other side of the top you can see the aerial view of kuravan kurathi statue of ramakkalmedu, only there is a security fence. There is a narrow cave and we can go through it. At the end of the cave there is a rock that protrudes towards the edge of a hill. The pleasure of sitting in it (own risk, beware) will take the mind to another level. Highly recommended place you should definitely go ......
They are providing Jeep for off road drive (1600/Jeep). if we go off ride they take us to a mountain peak, there we can see ram cave and solar park.. nice view point there.
