Rama Varma Union Club is one of the oldest clubs in Kottayam town, it has two wooden badminton (one of them is the oldest and finest court in South India) and has also hosted an international tournament couple of decades ago. Three clay tennis courts and also good tennis coaching is given here. And state of the art billiards room is also there. And now, a new sports bar has opened up and it's awesome!! The food is good and the staff are friendly.
We five had a comfortable meeting and lunch with special club items. Beautiful ambiance and service. Well maintained club with affiliations to many other clubs
Rama Varma Union Club is the oldest club of its kind in Kottayam. Its founded during 1881 The club has many recreational facilities like Card games, Tennis, Shuttle badminton etc. And also the club has a Bar, Restaurant, Auditorium etc. The Club has an annex Club at Kumarakom lake side with boating facilities.

Cozy place to party with frnds(your own booze n people). They won't bother u. We were up till 0500 am on the balcony, none came to bother us. Friendly staff. It was Xmas, so kitchen closed early, couldn't taste there food.. rooms were above average, looks like a guest house.. but all amenities are there.
Located away from the crowded town , ease of reachability. Entry only for members and their guests. Tasty food and good service. Nive behavior from staff and recommended for visit along with a member.
