RajMahal Palace - Historical landmark in Mehsana - Mahesana, India

This is neglected run down place and looks like no one cares about it. If you want to ruin something, convert into government office. This is the classic example of how a historical monument is dilapidated and ruined. One good thing is that the structure is still covered with greenery and trees. The Gaekwad family is in the process of taking over the place through court and they may convert it into a heritage hotel or museum. There is a statue of Sayajirao Gaekwad III in the open square in front of the palace covered with bird droppings. The onion shaped domes in the center and the umbrella shaped domes on the side portions with wood and stone carvings still gives the vibe of royal history even though the government has tried everything to destroy this place.

The Rajmahal palace is a historic structure not maintained by the government at all. Before it was converted to a court where hearing was held but now it is a place which is housed by the type writers sitting outside the court.

Old, torn, unmaintained piece of structure. Palace was used a government building for a long time so it will give a glipmse of the same rather than the ancient maharaja vibe. The place is full of bird droppings. Though the dome architecture will amaze you.

Palace of Sayajirav Gaikvad. It was used as court complex, but after the inauguration of new court complex, there are few government offices and few stamps vendors, advocate and notary sits there.

It's a huge property....Historic Palace....Locals are using it for photography and something like that but This Place should be convert in to mausam or a royal hotel or restaurant.
