Rajgad Fort - Fortress in Pune - Pune, India

This is a beautiful medium difficult Trek) hiking (more precise) place near Pune. It takes 2 and half hours for leisure up and 1 and half hours and return. Few places have steep up, railings are there for support. Not suitable for kids, old aged, Cardiac patients, and pets. Better to start the trek early in the morning and to carry a water bottle. On weekends, a lot of people will be there as a company and few small vendors with water, and refreshments at regular intervals are available. I enjoyed it, and it was worth hiking.

It is one of the best monsoon treks in Maharashtra. We had enjoyed this trek and found the trek quite slippery. I'll suggest to go with trekking shoes only and beginners can avoid this in monsoon season. View from the trek is quite greenery and soothing.

I had the privilege of visiting Rajgadh Fort during the monsoon season, and it was a truly enchanting experience. The combination of history and nature in the rainy season makes this fort a hidden gem. The weather during my visit was rainy, but it added a unique charm to the fort. The fort's surroundings were covered in lush greenery, and the ancient stone structures seemed to come alive in the mist and rain. The waterfalls cascading down the hills nearby were a sight to behold. Despite the rain, the accessibility to the fort was manageable, but I would recommend wearing sturdy footwear and carrying rain gear. The fort's historical significance became even more evident in the monsoon, with the rain-washed walls and the smell of wet earth. I also had the opportunity to participate in a guided tour, which provided fascinating insights into the fort's history and architecture. It's a perfect way to make the most of your visit. If you plan to visit Rajgadh Fort during the rainy season, remember to embrace the weather, take your time exploring, and capture the mesmerizing views. It's an experience that will stay with you for a long time.

The fort and the trek to it was lovely on a mid September day. Beautiful lush greenery and fresh air all around. Though it can get rainy at times, it's very refreshing. We approached via the ridges between Sinhagad and Raigad, this was even more spectacular. If one has the health and time, should definitely consider doing this. And a request to all hikers- please carry back your trash with you.

Ch.Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jay It's historical fort and first Capital of Maratha Empire where Ch.Shivaji Maharaj Stayed approx.25 years.Its very strategic fort and best example of visionary veiw to construct such a fort by Ch.Shivaji Maharaj.Its very widely spread fort at centre of fort there is balekilla which is surrounded by 3 machis which are widely spread.There are three gates or darwajas ,we did range trekk fromTorna fort to Rajgad fort which was approx total 26km range trekk through approx 16 hills passing.Most easiest way to reach out at Rajgad is from Pali Darwaja from where you can reach easily or moderately.Also at Pali darwaja base camp there is village Pali also at base there is ample parking place with small restaurants.After coving night camping g was banned but we observed that lot of trekkers,historians are staying at fort however food preparation is not allowed at fort for food you can give order at base village ,the villagers provide food delivery at fort also.Its advisable to reach at top of fort at early morning so that you can explore fort I details if you want to observe fort in details atleast two days need to spend there.The buruj,walls water tank are still in good conditions and gives experience of historical place.There is temple of goddess Padmavati where you will get opportunity to take blessings of goddesses Padmavati and temple is very well maintained also there is water tank is available from where you can get good quality of water also you can stay there.At various places you will get water and snacks sellers .You can explore various buruj,water tanks,darwajas,balekilla,fort structures there .Try to descend at 4 pm around so that you can reach at base village safely .Try to maintain cleanliness at fort as it's historical and holy place.

One of the best experiences I have ever had! Natural water is available on the fort. By the way, if staying overnight you have to carry your food with you because there are no hotels on the fort. However, you can find food in nearby villages. The best option is to cook it on the fort itself. and it's advisable to bring tents if staying overnight. jy shivraay
