Rajaseat Garden is a popular tourist attraction located in Madikeri. It is a beautiful garden known for its mesmerizing views and well-maintained landscapes. Rajaseat Garden offers a peaceful and serene environment with lush greenery, colorful flowers, and well-manicured lawns. The garden is well-designed with seating areas, pavilions, and a gazebo where visitors can sit and soak in the natural beauty. The main highlight of the garden is the viewpoint, from where tourists can enjoy stunning panoramic views of the Coorg valley and the mist-clad mountains. It is particularly popular among nature lovers, photographers, and those seeking a tranquil escape from the busy city life. Additionally, the garden also houses a musical fountain, which adds to the charm of the place. During the evenings, the fountain comes alive with synchronised water movements and musical tunes, creating a delightful experience for visitors. Rajaseat Garden is a must-visit destination in Madikeri, offering a refreshing and rejuvenating experience in the lap of nature. It is an ideal place for nature walks, picnics, and spending quality time with loved ones, making it a favorite spot among locals and tourists alike.
The Raja's Seat is a very popular tourist destination in Madikeri. The Raja's seat is located in the middle of a garden called the Gandhi mantap. This place which is built on a high level ground, was used by the kings of Kodagu to get a panoramic view of the cliffs, paddy fields and the green valleys to the west. The garden is known for its scenery and was their favourite place of recreation. This place is always crowded and I feel it has lost its charm. It was less crowded years before and a good place to see the sun set. The garden surrounding the Raja's seat is splendid, Also has a musical fountain and seasonal flowers. If you visit the place during flowering season, the garden at full bloom looks spectacular. The view from Raja's Seat is mesmorising, the valley with numerous mist-laden mountain ranges is really beautiful. The best time to visit Raja's seat is during the morning hours or late in the evening. It is a good place to capture scenery during sunset and also the mist covered valley is picturesque. It is indeed a treat to photography lovers. There is a toy train safari for the kids. The train will take you around the garden and give a good view of the valley. Parking will be an issue here, as the place gets really crowded. There is parking ticket being issued, but no special arrangements are made for the same. Do try home made chocolates, you will love them.
Entry fees -20 rs Time until 08:00 PM Visit during sunset is recommended however due to clouds we couldnt see sunset Musical fountain is dis functional currently One can spend an hour over here
Although the park is small, it is famous for its position for the breathtaking view of the valley below. Also we were lucky to witness a multitude of colours from the blooming flowers in almost every plant of the park. But the sore thing was, even though being a weekday, it was too crowded with tourists from across the country. The place was extremely noisy. Access to the Raja seat is now barricaded. I couldn't locate a washroom there. The newly added amusement space and a zip line is an eye sore to the park
I went on sataurday evening almost 6:30 pm.... almost getting dark but thoroughly enjoyed.. bestvtime should be during sunset.. still enjoyed... lot of flowers and best scenery to watch.. This place is maintained pretty well. It has lot of emotions. The view is simply amazing. To spend an evening there and watch the sun set would be amazing. Earlier it was more like a park and not many knew about it. But now it has become the tourist spot. There is a toy train as well right next to the compound. Outside you would find lot of chat carts.
This is a well maintained beautiful park to visit. It is within the city and easily accessible. Do not miss this place. Do visit around sunset time as it is worth watching the sunset from here. There would be lot of people visiting during sunset, but the park is huge. Outside park there are lot of snacking options as well.
Wonderful place. Great view of Madikeri. Great flora fauna. Nice Water fountain with lights and music in the evening. Good activities for children. Wonderful view point with ample seats for all.
