Raja Park Beach Resort - Resort hotel in Varkala - Thiruvananthapuram, India

More like a fun hostel than hotel. Lovely staff. Great that there is a pool but the water was dirty and pool walls are covered in thick mould and tiles falling off.

We waited a long time for the room. Other than that everything was fine. The sea is a little far from here. The swimming pool was good. It was raining when we visited. Loved playing in the swimming pool while getting wet in the rain.

It was a terrible experience in this hotel. We booked the rooms through Make my trip but they gave our rooms to some other guests and provided us different rooms saying that was the one we booked even after we showed the proof. It ended up with conflict. Staffs except few doesn't even know to deal with the guests and treated as if they gave us rooms for free. Rooms were also not worth for the money we paid. They don't have telephone, one charging point , no TV, torn stained bedsheets and hard bed. You can get better rooms near the beach. Have stayed in many hotels but haven't faced such worst behavior from management. Highly disappointed. Not even worth for 1 star for the way few staffs treated us. I know many won't mind this review but still this would be helpful for few especially for TN people. I felt there was a partiality. Rest is your choice.

it's all good but food is not in Andhra style and tamilnadu style it's kerala style food it's not set for me and water bottle it's too much cost and beer alsa too much cost

This place is very close to the cliff, just a short walk and you'll reach the cliff. This is a big plus. Their swimming pool is good. Their rooms are decent, but there is a big negative, we booked for 8 rooms and we didn't get hot water in 4 rooms, and they didn't supply it, though they gave a number to call for hot water when we bathe, no one turns up when we call. No housekeeping on a daily basis, they cleaned the rooms only when we asked for it. Come on, basic room supplies like paste/brush, floor mat were missing. They don't give you a complementary breakfast that's fine, we were told this while booking. But, their room service is pathetic, we waited for an hour and a half to get 2 cups of coffee. Yes, they told us the kitchen opens at 8.00 a.m. but everyday there was a 1.5 hrs delay in getting any food, anytime of the day. Their kitchen is very slow, It's on the opposite side of the road, they have another resort, which is theirs as well, but that kitchen serves this resort too. Sometimes they even forgot and didn't serve what we asked for. If you want to eat, go to the cliff or there is another small restaurant close by, go out of the resort, take left and then take the right, there is a small good restaurant, which served good food at a very cost effective price. When we enquired with the resort we were told that there is a staff shortage. Billing is pathetic, the last day our bill was doubled, and after a lot of confusion the manager questions how did the billing increase by nearly 20k plus overnight, as he was the one who gave us a tentative amount that we owe the previous night. So we were spared and finally he found out some wrong entry has happened in the billing system. Plus they did not add the bills that we already paid for, those bills also reflected as unpaid. Luckily we went and spoke to the manager the previous night and asked him for the final bill amount to pay the next morning, so he found out something wrong has happened in entry and finally we settled just in time and started to the train station. They have a massage place in their opposite resort, which is also theirs, that's good. But ask for a deal and freeze it before hand to not get fleeced. They have a lot of improvements to make. Otherwise this place is going to go down as place not to be occupied when you visit Varkala. On the whole, i am going to give them 3 stars, that's it..and I'm being generous by giving them 3 stars

The Receptionist people were so nice, they even gave us spare room to get refresh in the morning before our check in time. The only thing that worried me is, they were not able to arrange rental bike for us but still they arranged cabs. The balcony was spacious enough and the pool was good for us to had fun together as friends.

we had a two nights stay at this hotel. It was good and safe. I reduced 2 stars as there was no TV and phone, some basic toiletries were missing and bed was really hard for us. mattress is too old and needs replacement. Otherwise, staff were helpful and provided with extra pillow and helped us with our queries. Parking was good and safe (around 10 cars slot available). The hotel is at a walking distance from beach. Pool has a timing from 9am to 6pm only.
