Raitollem Lake - Lake in Curtorim - South Goa, India

Great view especially during monsoon and after that the blooming lotus. The greenery during monsoons looks splendid.

It's one of the lakes in the village of Curtorim. No doubt it was beautiful before, but the recent beautification of the lake has made it more attractive spot to takes those 1000 likes selfies . If you look carefully you'll notice two rocks. One is laying down and one standing up. They say there's a story behind it. Only the locals know it.

A beautiful lake with some benches where one can spend an hour or two in the evening, there is no shade around so it has to be evenings. There is a panipuri stall and guy serving fresh sugarcane juice by the benches placed on the parapet built by the lake. A few migratory birds do visit the lake and bird watchers can take advantage of that.

A very peaceful late.. has a nice seating place but is not maintained... Good to sit during evening... Fresh vegetables sold at the bustand opposite to the lake.. n a bhel/shev puri gada besides.. there is place for parking.. during summer water evaporates and very less water remains.. during rains it is amazingly full... It is a bund rather than a lake.. water from here is used for farming throughout the year..
