Pros: 1. The location is spectacular. Mind blowing view from the room and it felt so peaceful in the morning waking up to such a beautiful view 2. Service was excellent. There was a complimentary foot massage which was very relaxing and went for a paid massage later which was also done good 3. Food was decent, not much options but whatever was served tasted great Cons: 1. Lot of large flies, moths, lizards gets attracted to the light at night which was very annoying and I had to switch off all the lights and go to sleep forcefully cause of this 2. Lot of power fluctuations, unreliable wifi and no network at the location. Staff told us that the power fluctuations were very common and wifi won't get connected properly cause of service issues. I personally felt that these issues should have been communicated prior 3. Lot of monkeys which will not allow to open the balcony doors peacefully since they jump into the room to steal the food. Got annoyed of this since I was not able to even enjoy coffee in the balcony cause as soon as I had something in hand they come out of nowhere Overall, it's a once in lifetime experience and one should visit for the spectacular view and amazing experience here
This is a small resort. The location overlooks Athirappilly Waterfalls. What is amazing is that every room has a view of the falls. The resort has their own resident Sambar deer loitering around the area. The food is good. They staff are very keen to make your stay most comfortable. Will definitely go back here again.
Our stay at Rainforest was nothing short of magical, and I'm at a loss for words to describe our experience. The location is an absolute jackpot, offering an unparalleled view of Athirappally falls that I believe no other property can match. What sets Rainforest apart is their deliberate choice to keep the property intimate, featuring only 10 rooms, each providing breathtaking views of the falls. I honestly felt the premium they charge for rooms is totally worth it. Even in the base category luxury rooms, the room size was impressive. It makes me wonder about the size of the higher category rooms I find no fault with the property, the staff, or anything else, so I'll summarize the highlights that my family truly appreciated: Breathtaking Views: The moment we stepped out of our car, our jaws dropped at the views of the falls. Spacious Rooms: Our luxury rooms accommodated three people each with ample space to spare. There is a balcony in every room. There are monkeys too - but they weren't problematic during our visit. Spa: The complimentary 20-minute foot massage was a delight, with the hands-on and courteous Ayurvedic doctor adding a personal touch. Trek to the Falls: Organized by the in-house naturalist, Santosh Chettan (I hope I got his name right), this trek to the top and bottom of the falls, with a shortcut back, was a trip highlight. Proper footwear is recommended, and a certain level of fitness is advisable. Hats off to Santosh Chettan's understanding and helpful nature. He helped my sister throughout the trek as she found the climb hard. Exceptional Food: I was initially skeptical about the full board package, but I was pleasantly surprised. Buffet-style breakfast, high tea, and dinner offered delicious dishes although limited in variety (this is reasonable considering it's a smaller property). Sadya lunch with non-veg add-ons was a hit. We felt a couple of breakfast dishes lacked salt and this feedback was immediately taken into account. Our group was age-diverse (10 to 75) and all found the food satisfying. Pool with a View: The pool offered a refreshing experience with the backdrop of falls. They also have an activity room with games and tv. Attentive Staff: The staff, notably Operations Manager Zakir Hussain, demonstrated exceptional attention to detail. Special accommodations for my elderly parents showcased their thoughtfulness. Ashraf handled bookings with patience, addressing all queries and offering a fantastic deal. Travel Tip: The resort's unique selling point is most pronounced when the falls are abundant with water. Plan your visit during Kerala's rainy season for the full experience--I'm already looking forward to returning during the monsoons.
Best location, one can get the best view of the majestic waterfall from rooms as well as open area, dinning space ..... it's awesome. Overpriced. Rooms are spacious but food and Services are not worthy the exorbitant tariff they demand. The only USP of the hotel is the location and view.
I had a truly serene experience at Ayurveda Cafe in Rainforest Resort. The breathtaking view of Athirapilly waterfalls was absolutely mesmerizing, making it worth every moment. Although we arrived at 3PM and missed out on tea or coffee due to timing, the anticipation for the food was well rewarded by the stunning scenery. The cover charge of 1000 per person was a bit unexpected, but the tranquil ambiance and remarkable view made it a worthwhile investment. Looking forward to returning and trying their food next time!
"My wife and I recently stayed at the Rainforest Resort in Athirappilly, Kerala. The resort is located right next to the Athirappilly Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls in India. Our room had a balcony with a stunning view of the falls, which was absolutely breathtaking. The service at the resort was excellent. The staff was friendly and attentive, and they went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub with a view of the falls. The food at the resort was also excellent. We had a variety of dishes, all of which were delicious. The resort also has a spa, which we visited for a couples massage. The massage was amazing, and it really helped to relax us after a long day of exploring. Overall, we had a wonderful stay at the Rainforest Resort. It is the perfect place for couples looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. I would highly recommend it to anyone." Here are some specific details about the hotel that I would mention in my review: The location is amazing, right next to the waterfall. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with a balcony or terrace that offers stunning views of the waterfall. The service is excellent, with friendly and attentive staff. The food is delicious, with a variety of dishes to choose from. The spa is amazing, with a variety of treatments to choose from. The resort is quiet and peaceful, making it the perfect place to relax and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. I would also mention that the resort is best suited for couples looking for a luxurious and romantic getaway. It is not the cheapest option, but it is definitely worth the price for the experience. Only thing is people who are afraid of monkeys or lizards should stay out of here
The falls are so awesome but the entry ticket is 50rs per person, parking is outside the falls entry. Monkeys are more in the falls be aware of them, water snacks ice creams are available inside the walk way to the falls but each snack is 10 to 20 rs extra and if you bring a plastic bottle from inside in the exit gate the security will give you 10rs for bottle but water bottle cost is 25rs . Coming to falls we need to get down for 200+ steps and u will get the falls but no access to the falls. Ropes are tied and allowed only photoshoots. Over all you will become tired after climbing back.
What to say about this place! I went there with my husband and I wasn't expecting much but the near dangerous trek down and the heavy rains made it all up to the view I saw once I reached down. Both of us were drenched and exhausted because of the heavy rains but gosh this has to be one of the most beautiful places I've ever been too. Must go and please wear good shoes for the way down
