Rain Country Resorts - Resort hotel in Kunnathidavaka - Wayanad, India

I booked a deluxe wooden cottage room but when we reached there, the receptionist took us to an independent cottage which is not at all worthy for the money i paid so we got doubt and double checked and confirmed that it is not the room i booked. So we went to the reception for clarification. The receptionist said they will not be able to give the room we booked! They were arguing with us about the room and tried to convince us for taking that old dusty room. We took a stern stand that we need the room which we booked. Later those guys showed us another room which was also not same as the one we booked. We denied to stay there and asked for clarification. Then they said other rooms close to our Deluxe cottage room is occupied by bachelors so that we will get disturbed that's why they changed our room. After lots of arguments they admitted that they already given the room to someone else. At the end we were forced to stay there because we didn't have any other options in that late evening in a forest. Everyone always book-rooms according to their convenience, here we did the same. Our two days stay was not at all good because of the receptionistThey haven't communicated anything regarding food timing or other facilities and for us to communicate with them ,we had to walk to the reception as there was no extension phone. I still have the guilt that i spent my two days in this place which is not at all worthy and hosted by uncultured like the receptionist.Those who are planning to stay here kindly make sure that they provided you the exact room which you booked and cross examine it with pictures.

10/10 only for location of resort. But honestly money spent is only for resort location. The service is not upto mark, rooms aren't that greatly maintained. Buffet services are poor. Food is normal. To reach resort, you need to drive very carefully if you have a sedan or low clearance vehicle. Leaches are one more issue one need to be careful of.

If you wanna stay somewhere quite and enjoy nature , this is the resort deep into the forest, completely out of the world , deep into the jungle. Food and service are good. There's a stream inside the resort. And most importantly, there's a natural pool, can't say it a pool its a combo of pool and a pond with fresh water.

Absolutely loved the stay here. It is a serene resort away from traffic and pollution, located literally in the middle of the forest. Totally recommended if you are looking for a resort to just relax and eat good food. What i liked? 1. There is a huge natural pool inside the resort with clear water and is perfect for swimming. 2. The cottages as such were excellent and felt as if you were inside a 19th century Kerala palace. 3. The food there is absolutely stunning. Being a malayali, I totally vouch for the food here. We were totally overwhelmed with the number of items they were serving. Recommendations: Ela Ada with a special sauce, Meen cocunut milk curry. 4. The employees there are super friendly. Caution: 1. If you hike to the viewpoint inside the resort, be aware that there could be leeches. 2. The road to the resort is 4 kms of off roading. This is again subjective because some people may like the experience. I personally did not enjoy it the 3rd time. Tl;dr Totally recommended if you would want to have a getaway to enjoy the true beauty and sounds of nature, and have some true kerala cuisine.

The resort was very good. We stayed overnight and the ambience and natural sounds at night was excellent. The rooms were also clean and service was good. The only problem was food. No great menu and taste was normal.

It was a wonderful experience, reaching the resort is like a Wonderful adventure trip we really enjoyed but we should have good driving skill to enjoy else but tension, place is really awesome, if you are person who love nature then this is the must try place, don't plan site seeing when you plan to visit Rain Country, wonderful place to go with family. Food is really nice, tasty and hygiene.

It's a very off-road place. 4km from the main to reach there. We are 3 family members (12 people) .. paid Rs36000/- for one day stay .. (including lunch per head 500) Lunch dinner breakfast just good 3/5 Service was not good .. no telephone number to call reception and no internet and television provided The room is fully furnished with woods No geyser working Only a natural pool. that's good but only recommended for a person who knows swimming. They provide trekking spot. ..it's just walking around the property and to reach the top. Lot of bugs appeared in room at night including mosquitos Restaurant and play area are in same building . Not recommended for low ground clearance vehicle to reach the property Due to off-road my car's mud flaps are gone Leech appeared in the rain season

Location and Ambience are good,close to nature.They have a natural pool with running water.Rooms are just average & budget type During night there is no room service , staffs will go home by 10pm.Road to the resort is not good , so don't go in low profile tyre vehicle.
