Awesome creative and best tribute to a supreme legacy. Rohan..kalpana..Avani. Maruti are doing great job of explaining beyond measure. Tickets are a mere rs 50 for observation and reading. But 100 including 2 shows..with a minimum 5 pax breakeven point. So happy to see few of more than 35000 daily creations by the unbeatable r k laxman..common man being slowly seeing addition of super woman...great transition...a museum worth visiting..avoid Thursdays and watch the light and sound show which requires 5 pax to breakeven and the mini malgudi town. They have several ambitious programs on board...hats off to his daughter in law usha laxman to nature and bring this mission with support and perseverance to see the light of the day.kudos dear...gratitude always
They charge Rs50 per person for museum entry, got no receipt or ticket etc. for the same. Museum is well maintained, contains cartoons created by RK Laxman throughout his entire life including the pre-independence era. Staff was helpful. They have life sized statue of Mr Laxman ji and a model of Malgudi town. They also do a play for around 20 mins for which there is additional charge.
It's really a must visit place in Pune. Light and sound is very good and one connects with R K Laxman.I enjoyed the photo gallery also. Younger generation needs to see this and will easily be able to associate with the younger days of their parents. :) INR 100 entry for light and sound show and museum entry and INR 50 for if you only take entry to the museum.
Disappointing visit. It was very hot and the ac wasn't on. No tour guide. The service and mood were pathetic for such a well designed museum. The doors weren't opened and had to be opened every time we entered. We got so irritated we left without realizing we didn't get to see the mini figure town that was on display because we didn't know where it was . Otherwise, the museum is really nice, and there were braille boards for the blind before any type of poster.
Marvellous! The legendary Shri R.K.Laxman has left behind a legacy of artwork for all of us. This museum has wonderfully managed to keep his creativity preserved in order to showcase it to the World. His observation of the things happening around him and around the globe, were the very foundation of his works. He took cognisance of both type of issues, serious and trivial, scrutinised them and applied his wit & art to finally scribble them down on paper in form of a cartoon. Socio-Political issues were never more interesting until we used to read them in the satirical cartoon clips picturing the "The Common Man". The museum is well kept and managed. They have two Audio-Visual shows narrated by Mr.Boman Irani. These shows are a must to watch and experience the life of the legend. One show is related to life of Shri R.K.Laxman and the other show is related to Malgudi Days, that will take you back in time when we used to watch the shows on Doordarshan. Shri R.K.Laxman helped his elder brother Shri R.K.Narayan to draw depictions of the short stories in the latter's renowned book - Malgudi Days. This museum is a terrific tribute to the one and only - Shri R.K.Laxman. Please do not miss it !
Great place to go back in India's history, through RK Laxman's brush!!! Nicely showcased....go with enough time to experience the audio visual show...
