Pushpagiri Wildlife Sanctuary - Nature preserve in Kumarahalli - Kodagu, India

Kumara parvatha trek is one of the toughest treks. The trek has different vegetation: dense forest for about 2 hours and then the next 1 hour trek is through the grassland. camp for the night and enjoy the sunset(Very scenic). The next day, start early and continue towards shesha parvatha, the view from here is amazing. The next 1 hour trek is inside the forest and moment you reach the peak, you can see and feel the fog all over. The clouds will literally be below us. It offers breathtaking views.

It's a thick forest area. Scenery is amazing. Best place to feel relaxed. It's not a crowded place because of that it's very peaceful in there. Roads are small but it's good. Highly recommended.

Pushpagiri biosphere i.e Kumaraparvata is one of the best and toughest trekking in the south India . According to Hindu mythology here Lord Kartikeya killed tarakasura here . Totally 12 to 13km of trekking , one will witness Deep forest climbing , grassland hill climbing and rock climbing. This is the package of adventure. One should pay 425 for the trekking and shoukd keep 500 deposit for plastic and it will be returned as one have correct number of plastics . Intention is to make our reserve forest free from plastic and it is maintained very well by the @forestdepartment . At the top you will get the heavenly satisfaction

Nicely constructed natural park. The Birds section is an added advantage. One can get in touch with beautiful colourful friendly birds and can feed them or take pictures with them. Statues showing local culture of dance are nicely placed. At the entrance there is a market where people have many options to choose from.

The Pushpagiri wildlife sanctuary is a good spot for trekking but there were no guides available so we had to complete the trek on our own. The forest is pretty dense and we spotted quite a few birds while trekking. It is situated in Mandalpatti. Couldn't see any animal so much fog was there. The bullet ride was really awesome. Thank you . . . .

This place feels like heaven. Its also known as Mandalpatti. To reach this place you can hire a 4x4 jeep. Journey is totally off-roading but destination is breathtaking. For jeep per person fare is Rs500, which you can hire from outside bus stop. Weather is cold. You can also trek from a certain point which is 8km round trip.
