Purple Valley - Yoga Retreat Center in Assagao - North Goa, India

Purple Valley is a very special place. The venue is absolutely stunning, the instructors are world class, the food is delicious and healthy, and the staff and guests are lovely (and fun!). Whether you are new to Mysore Ashtanga or a veteran practitioner, I can't recommend the Purple Valley experience enough!

This is one of the best places I've stayed in all of India. Everyone, from the guys running the retreat, Neha the yoga teacher, to the cooks, the housekeepers, and all of the other support staff, as well as the other guests, were beyond welcoming, kind, and warm. The grounds are lush, well-maintained, and teeming with wildlife. There were turtles, blue jays, butterflies, and wild pigs roaming around. The rooms don't have A/C, but they have huge windows, a balcony(in some), and a simple elegance making getting to bed early and relaxing easy. The yoga classes with Neha were pure, traditional Astanga and some of the most challenging that I've ever done. Complimentary vegetarian breakfast is included, and you can order other stuff off the menu for a fair price. We also had Bollywood movie nights. Assago is one of the most posh areas of India I've ever been to, and I especially enjoyed eating at Mojigao and G-Shot.

The location is beautiful. The staff are very helpful and the venue itself is very quiet and peaceful. Rooms are spacious and comfortable to stay in. I would definitely recommend this to those planning to visit.

A home away from home, living in harmony with nature, healthy and great good, staff that do there outmost for you as a guest, an amazing yoga shala where time stops and you find inner peace to practice. Great treatments at the Spa, open all week:). A lovely pool surrounded by a beautiful garden. Perfect location both for cultural experience as well as a short drive out to the beaches.

A magical place run by a team of magical people! Perfectly located in the super hip Assagao (and just a short taxi ride to pretty much anything else you'd want to see, do and eat in North Goa), Purple Valley is a rare jewel where you can practice with some of the best Ashtanga teachers from around the world in a beautiful shala nestled amongst lush foliage and the sounds of birdsong. The pool and food are amazing too! Thanks for making the stay so special- I can't wait to return very, very soon!

I spent four weeks in PV to practice with Ty Landrum. The venue and the whole village of Assagao is super nice. Lots of nice (but pricey) cafes and shops around. The staff is super nice and also joines the daily practice which goes to show that they love ashtanga as much as their guests instead of just running a business. The only downside is the traffic noise, so if you're sensitive be sure to bring earplugs.. I hope to be back in the not so far future and would totally recommend it :)

Attended a two week retreat with Ty Landrum here. Was one of the best experiences of my life! Great venue, food and company and world class Yoga! Highly recommend this place.
