Purbanchal College, Silapathar has completed almost 20 years of service or the well being of the region by imparting higher education to the students of the locality. It was established way back in the year 1996 (19/06/1996) under the name of Silapathar Commerce College which was later renamed as Purbanchal College Silapathar in the year 2012. Throughout these years the college has been trying to fulfill the aspirations of the students of higher education in the streams of Arts and Commerce. Further, it is the only institution of higher education imparting commerce education in the entire Jonai Legislative Assembly Constituency. The College offers a blend of academic, cultural, sports, and other related co-curricular activities, including NSS for the benefit of the students. The College is committed to its vision and mission to fulfill its objectives. The College operates within the rules and guidelines of UGC, NAAC, Director of Higher Education, Govt. of Assam and Dibrugarh University. The College seeks to uphold an environment which is the best and most useful from the academic point of view and other relevant activities. With all these years of experience the college has tried to adapt to the changes in higher education. We have introduced modern aids like interactive board, LCD Projectors and other multimedia systems and will always be in search of ways to excel in the field of education by regularly adapting with the modern changes.
