I had the privilege of visiting this elephant enclosure in Kerala, and it was an awe-inspiring experience. From the moment I entered, I could sense the deep respect and care the staff had for these majestic creatures. The enclosure was spacious and well-maintained, providing a natural and comfortable environment for the elephants. What truly made this visit exceptional was the opportunity to learn about the elephants' history, daily routines, and conservation efforts. The knowledgeable guides shared fascinating insights into the lives of these magnificent animals, which deepened my appreciation for their role in Kerala's culture and heritage. I was also fortunate to witness a feeding session, where I observed the elephants up close. It was a heartwarming experience to see them enjoy their meals, and it left me with a sense of wonder and respect for these gentle giants. The highlight of the visit was definitely the chance to interact with the elephants. I had the opportunity to feed them, and it was a surreal and unforgettable moment. The staff ensured that the interaction was safe for both visitors and elephants, prioritizing the animals' well-being. Overall, my visit to the elephant enclosure in Kerala was not only a memorable experience but also an educational one. It left me with a profound appreciation for these magnificent creatures and the dedicated efforts of those working to protect them. I highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Kerala.

This is a very nice place to visit with kids, you can see lots of elephants in one place. This place can improve a lot by providing a small recreation spot and play area for kids. I hardly find any place to sit. Provide the description of the elephants in the Kotta, utilise one of the building to develop an elephant museum. Showcase there lifestyle create videos and documentaries to showcase in Facility. This will give a unique experience to visitors

It's a haven for elephants. Some foolish reviewers are talking about elephants being chained etc. They simply don't know what they are talking about. They don't know the elephant and the fact that they can get angry for any reason and if that happens, then the havoc that would be created. Elephants here are brought for rejuvenation. They all are owned by people who keep them in their own private properties. However they are brought here for a proper holistic treatment.

The place was clean and reasonably well kept. There were many elephants standing at various places eating or just simply standing. After the first few elephants we realized that all elephants were chained in 2 legs and some had chains on 3 legs. This is seriously inhumane. These are gentle giants that normally walk 20-30km a day in the forests being forced to stand in the same spot for hours. Few of them had severe chaffing on their legs having been chained tight with very little slack for movement. We can totally understand the frustration such treatment can cause, forcing them to act up occasionally. Our expectation that these animals would be treated better for they carry the gods on their backs was completely squashed. We returned sad and with an uneasy feeling in our stomach.

Must visit place if you are in Guruvayur. Family and kids love this place. Lots of elephants to watch out for and you can feed and touch the elephants as well. Entry ticket is 20rs for adults and above 10yr old kid is 10rs. Worth it.

Once the palace of a local ruler, its compound is now used to house elephants, and the Naalukettu serves as the training house for the mahouts. More than 59 elephants reside here with adequate facilities. The elephants are well cared for by the mahouts, who are friendly to both the elephants and the visitors. People can visit this place from 9 am to 5 pm with an entry fee of Rs. 20 for adults and an additional Rs. 25 if you want to use a mobile camera. Visitors should adhere to the guidelines provided by the guards and the manuals, as an elephant's behavior can be unpredictable. One thing that saddened me was seeing the Naalukettu in need of urgent renovation. The roof is covered with tarpaulin to avoid leakage, and some of the wooden structures are almost damaged. The same goes for the nearby temple. I wish the Dewaswom would consider addressing these issues as soon as possible.
