One of the oldest railway station in Kerala, the Second Largest Railway Station in Kollam District located between kollam and Shengottai. This railway line is currently broad gauge recently converted from meter gauge line. This is the best route for nature lovers. The trains runs through reserve forest and 13 kannara bridge (Arch Bridge) is one of the main attraction in this route. The bridge connects two hillocks and stands on thirteen granite pillars each almost a hundred feet tall. Streams, forest and wild atmosphere provide you a stunning visual feast. It is the Gateway of Sabarimala especially for the devotees from Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Telangana and Karnataka.

Yup, quite railway station but it has some stray dogs.it doesn't give a good drinking water service.it don't have good shops near it to find a good shop you have to travel 800m from the railway station.the second platform is little bit untidy .

Nice railway station. It's almost empty all the time bcz only few trains passing here. Cleanliness is good and near to the bus stop. Will get bus to kollam and thenkashi from outside the railway station. Auto service available just opposite to the railway station. One general ticket outlet is located near entrance and reservation facilities also available. It's an ok place.
