Pulicat Lagoon - Tourist attraction in Tiruvallur, Pulicat - Tiruvallur district, India

Great place to spend a day with family and friends. Fish and prawns are very cheap to buy, Boat man charges 200rs per person (max of 6ppl) in 1 boat. Hotels are limited not so hygienic as well, i recommend to purchase and give it to a person to cook and serve after 2hours. 30-40mins drive from shore to island. Very clean beach and take water can and all other items with u( No shops in island ) to buy anything.

It is mostly backwaters but once you sail into the lake for a while, the water is quite clear. One boat can accommodate eight to ten persons so plan accordingly. Start your boating at either the sunrise or sunset to get the best experience

Second largest Lagoon in India! Pulicat is roughly 60 kilometers drive from Chennai. This is a must visit spot for Bird Photographers, especially if you are from South India. Hundreds of varieties of birds travel from around the world during the "season" which is around February and March. You can book a private boat in advance, they will take you near the spot where birds are seen in thousands! The boat trip is roughly around 2 hours long.

wonderful place for birding, boating and to do picnic.. love the flamingos here.. lot of shore birds here.. we took boat tour for 3 hours in the morning.. march 2022.. it was foggy in the morning.. but the light was ok.. saw lot of flamingos.. feeding shots were taken on the shore..

What a fantastic village! Fishing, boating, beach and light house are available. If you want a relief or recovery go here and enjoy a lot. I am sure that this place become the most memorable part in your life.

Not a bad place to visit - great views but do plan a visit in Dec or Jan. The heat is horrible otherwise.

Awesome Location for watching Birds.....but, please check the season and visit.
