What to say and what to not I really dont know...owner caretaker both aer really really very good person...there was a home like atmosphere as well as safe...I will definitely prefer to stay again if I will go for a trip to shantiniketan...they are soo friendly...and the room wash room dinings were clean...just awesome

Positive: Spacious, and very clean, cheerfully decorated, located in a quiet neighbourhood with a lovely garden and terrace. What makes the place so special is the excellent service. The owner and his son went out of their way to make sure I had a perfect stay in Shantiniketan: contact was already established prior to my trip, they offered not only advice, but also helped with my travel arrangements, like booking my train ticket and organizing my onward journey. Once in Shantiniketan, Ranjit, the toto driver, took well care of me from picking me up from the train station to taking me to all the places of interest. Ranjit speaks only very little English, but the owner was always available over the phone when translation was needed. If I ever return to Shantiniketan, I will definitely stay at Pubali Homestay again.. Negative: Nothing.

Super comfortable, well maintained and warm homestay at serene city Shantiniketan.. Mr. Lahiri is such a wonderful host. He makes guest feel at home. All staff members are affectionate too. Had great stay.

Nice, well maintained home with decent staff on call. Very clean. Peaceful environment. Choice of continental and Bengali breakfast. Heating facility for food available. Can accommodate 6-8 people. My family and I had a very pleasant stay. The proximity to Rabindrabharati ensured we could walk around. Highly recommended for families who are not particular about hotel-like experience

Positive: Quiet area. Clean room and bathroom. Toiletries provided. AC and geyser were functioning. I would definitely recommend this place to those who don't like the noise and crowd of the market area.. Negative: Nothing as such, except that the bathroom was at a higher level than the room. I was informed about it before check in..

Positive: The property is a house of the owner and has two bedrooms.. Negative: I had booked the property for my parents after reading the good reviews. The owner called up much earlier saying the money had to be paid upfront. And of course we did that. Before my Oren ya were to arrive, their train got delayed and the owner insisted that they cannot enter the property after 9 PM. Rather strange because this wasn't said before. He suggested them to find some other place. My parents however told him that they had no other options. So they arrived at 21:30. The place is much in the interior and not easy to find. Also to go out you need a tuktuk and only the care taker can take you there and he charges a lot of money. The breakfast was included but my mother who is a vegetarian got only bread and ketchup. The bathroom was on first level. The blankets had cotton that was old and had sort of crumpled. They did not have a great time..

It has been a great experience staying in Pubali during last weekend. Mr Lahiri and team gave their best effort to ensure our stay being pleasant and comfortable. It's a spacious home stay good for even family of 7. If u are looking to live a little away from the nosiest city life, go for Pubali.

Pros : the place feels homely. Situated in a quite locality. Feels peaceful. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Cons : the place is very very far off from the main town. It's very difficult to locate. At times google map gave up and there was no. Sign board to guide. It took a long time to find this place. They don't have their own restaurant, neither does any restaurant delivers here nor will they arrange meals for you except the complimentary breakfast. You need to find a restaurant (which is again very far off) for your lunch and dinner all by yourself.
