Prashar camp - Camping farm in Shegli, Kalang - Mandi, India

My experience of camping was so nice. We were accompanied by a local guide who was so helpful throughout the trek and had such a nice stay in camps along with bonfire and freshly cooked dinner and breakfast. Met some good people while our stay in camp. Overall we were so happy with the service and the kind of beauty we witnessed over there.

Best place for trekking from IIT Mandi. During winter the snow is up to 12km from the lake. So the whole trek is in snow. There are three colours of the area. During winter the area is completely white and during other seasons the area is either green or brown. Visit the area three times in a year during different seasons and see the beauty of it. Better to take same picture of the area everytime you visit to compare the pictures. If you are planning for trek in winter then take necessary accessories like gloves, winter clothes, umbrella and proper shoes for snow with you.

Tour was well arranged and guide was quite humble. We didn't stay at camping site though, yet the arrangements near lake was quite satisfactory and that too in January when there was a heavy snow.

The owner (Deepak bhai) is extremely cool and helpful. I am a solo traveler and went there on my own and I reached Bagi late in the evening around 9 PM and everything was closed but he still helped me with the food and gave a bed to stay overnight. The next day as I was a solo traveler and wanted to trek till the lake, he managed to tie me up with a group so that I could not be lost in the Jungle. My stay at the lake was good and the staffs there were helpful too. Overall it was a very good experience and I would recommend anyone to book your stay or trek with him. One of the most beautiful short treks from Baggi Village in Himachal Pradesh is this Parashar Lake trek which largely possesses a forest trail and opens to vast Meadows covered in green from April to November and then in snow for the remaining period. I trekked in January and it was a soul enriching experience for me as we enjoyed the bonfire, the majestic views of the Himalayas and walked through thick snow only to reach the place where Saint Parashar prayed to Shiva, the god of the Himalayas.

Very helpful and kind staff the camping Experience was also amazing with a night under starry skies. Good food accommodation and travel arrangements were done excellently

Beautiful,Serene,Peaceful,Calm...This place gives an amazing experience...If you are planning a visit then winter is the best time..You have trekk through snow clad jungle..Take a tour guide if you dont know the terrain during winters... Rainy season is also good but water streams on the way up sometimes gets flooded and you can get stuck on either side..Try to contact any local during that time before visiting... Try to stay here for atleast 2 or 3 days to really get the experience...
