Sarnath is the place where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon in the Deer Park. Sarnath is located 13 km far from religious capital city Varanasi. This city is counted among the top four pilgrimage places in Buddhism. The Dharmarajika, Chaukhandi and Dhamek stupas are amazing. Explore Deer Park, Japanese Temple, Mulagandha Kuti Vihar and Pragya Sheel Samadhi. Visit Sarnath Museum having some of the finest specimens of Buddhist sculpture. Among all Buddhist worship, Asadh (July - August) full moon is considered as the anniversary of his first sermon. Chaukhandi Stupa: It is an important Buddhist stupa in Sarnath. These stupas are a shrine for a relic of the Buddha.
In the center of the crossing it's a small place for public gathering. Usually used for political events etc. The parking space is a problem here while events but you can use the stand of Jalaans showroom / multiplex which is in front of this. Good to look at, it's very close to Shastri Ghat, Varuna river. So make sure you visit this too.
