Pragathi Nagar Lake - Nature preserve in Hyderabad - Medchal Malkajgiri, India

Nice walking path around the lake. Gets smelly at some parts. There are quite a few birds in the lake. I wished they had paved path as during rainy season the walking path gets muddy.

This weekend we crossed this road. We have seen this lake, it's spread both of the roadsides, quite a busy road. We thought it can be a beautiful lake if it was clean. The lake has surrounded by a green field, and apartments, also there are so many big stones inside the lake, On still water, the reflection of the stone and trees looks amazing. But the saddest thing is a lot of filth and dirt around the lake corners. Nearby people dump their garbage inside the lake. GHMC should take strict action against them. If GHMC will clean this lake and provide some boating facilities it would be a beautiful place for Hyderabadis.

Pragathi Nagar is a residential colony in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, India. It is a residential suburb in Kukatpally and is situated at a distance of 3 kilometres from the Kukatpally locality on National Highway 9 which leads to the city of Mumbai. It is situated at around 2 and half kilometers from the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.

The new path was for jogging is good...You get a good view point and away from noise of traffic...A bit maintenance is required though .. Also can have darshan of lord Shiva in morning as there is a temple built along the stretch of lake

people are using like dumping yard.Government has to do something to save this lake

This is spot for bird lovers, You can find night heron, pond heron, spot billed ducks, koot, cormorant and some painted storks
