For someone new to such adventure: This place is perfect, its not scary not difficult some areas are steep to give you the experience but still very safe. Its very close from the city. It takes about 1hour to get to the top view point. 1 hour includes 5 stops for 5 mins each. There is a further hike to the tip that takes another hour. We had network for Airtel and Jio For women: The place is very clean. Love the resting stations which is also tea stalls. We did a night trek so they where shut but you could use them for a quick rest to stretch your legs. Some of them had toilets. Toilets are there on the top as well. For my Indian bro's and sis: There are big trash bins. Please collect your trash and dispose them properly. Please do not litter. We did a night hike on a full moon night. It was safe. Locals are very helpful and extremely sweet. You may meet the car parking lady she looks a 100 years old. She will give you a ticket for Rs50 - Rs100 mentioned please dont bargain. The top is isolated, you can play music and have a nice time. Your not going to disturb any one. Carry: - Nice shoes, if its not good you may twist ankle ( i am 36yrs) -The green Laser. Just for fun -music - water - snacks - torch - a nice soft mat to lay and enjoy the view
Very clean trek. Very friendly villagers. Most restaurants & shops accept UPI payment option. Only issue is, tourist still dirty certain areas, despite the local trash bins at all checkpoints.
The locals are very nice and helpful. Best place for camping. Get tents and meals to order if you need to. From here you can reach Prabalgad and Kalavantini forts. You can go with your family and friends. Please do not take alcohol. Just go and get the feeling of Nature and have fun. Take care of yourself while trekking.
Awesome place to trekking. Before going on trek make sure you have sufficient water storage with you. And Start trekking early morning you will be feel less hot. And most important thing is that when you are on the trek stay alert look everywhere the walk cause on the trekking road there are too much trees and there are approx 5 species of venomous snakes. So be alert and stay safe.
A very good trek...awesome view from top of prabalgadh of kalavantin...it is a moderately difficult trek and will require stamina of about 1.3-2 hours trek. Food is awesome at base camp site and tent facility is also good for dual sharing.
Place is wonderful for one day outing. Road are very good till we reach destination. But to reach parking lot you have cover last 50 meter of road with huge potholes n steep climb which is in horrible condition. Road to waterfall point is very bed shape n last 100 meter is suitable only for one vehicle to pass. Rs 50 is charged for parking a car. In the same premises you can have tea n poha n start the trekking. Shoe is must for trekking you will realize it when you will climb down. Take a water bottle n good rain gear with you. Umbrella will not work at top but will be saviour from heavy rain while climbing. At every 100 meter you will find a small shops having nimbu paani, wafers, cucumber, corn etc. Climb gradually becomes tough and little tough at few places. Kids can reach easily up to middle plateau but will need assistance at 5-6 points. Entry fee is Rs50 for adult. You have to write your details in register and sign again while returning also. At difficult places villagers are there to guide you. After reaching the top you can enjoy tea n hot lunch at shop Rs130 for Veg and Rs 160 for non-veg. View is breath taking form top. Further you can go to Kalavanti and Prabalgad Fort. We took around 1.5 Hrs to reach plateau (prabalgad machhi) from parking lot with little rest.
We planned night trek to kalavantin fort, in the evening around 7pm we start the trek from base village, it takes around 1:30~2hrs to reach the Prabalmachi. There we can get food, tent, camp fire, morning breakfast by the people who stay at machi at affordable price. Early in the morning we started the half of the trek and got view from top of the fort in nearly half~one hour trek. It was nice experience in camping
