This ticket counter offers three different value tickets....Rs. 5/-, Rs.10/- and Rs.15/-. You can take tickets towards Chengalpet or towards Chennai beach.... Apart from these, one can pay higher value to take tickets to long distance local trains like tirumalpur, gummidipoondi, etc...
Very Good Staff available here. Also the sitting area is quite good. Even though we are in Tamil Nadu, we do not feel the heat, since there are a few trees in and around the railway station to protect us from the sun rays.
Convenient for nearby colleges, hardly anyone uses the bridge and usually cross the tracks, always expect the trains to be 10-30 minutes late, no announcements or station manager, I had to wait for a train for 3 hours once with no explanation. Hardly any lighting during night times. You might also see 2 kids who sell stickers and curse you if you don't give them money
