Potagada - Fortress in Pallibandha, Ganjam - Ganjam, India

Place is so nice and located adjacent to Rushikulya River. Today I went there, I found the entry gate is closed so I asked a person about this. He told me that there has no security at the gate. So if I wanna enter this fort, I'll have to go to the back side to enter. However I followed him and entered the fort. I saw fort hasn't been maintained at all but the scenery of this place is so good. Especially the River Rishikulya has made this place is so beautiful. One Canal work is in the progess. When it will be made, this place will be more beautiful.

Potagarh (The Buried fort) is a fort located in Ganjam, Odisha, by the National Highway on one side and the Rushikulya basin on the other. Not much is left of the fort. Just the ruins of a few standing walls & a tunnel from Medieval India's "Kalinga". If you're interested in Odisha's past, then I would recommend you to visit this place. Just a one time visit, as there's nothing much to here.

Historic place not frequently visited. Work is in progress to restore but looks like work isn't happening at the pace it should. Beautiful view of the Rusikulya River Mouth.

Very Calm, serne, peaceful place. comparatively lower footsteps, just beside the Rushikulya river. perfect for watching sunrise or sunset... Though some ticket fees were mentioned on the board but nobody charged any entry fee or parking fee. I did not notice any local commutation, own car is the best option.. open for 24 hours.. A perfect combination of history, nature and spirituality... Loved it...

Potagada Fort is an architectural wonder of 3 Foreign Rulers that is Muslim, French and British. It is situated on the confluence of river Rushikulya and Bay of Bengal. It is pentagon shaped and cluster of forts.

Old broken simple type fort. Very less people visit this place. However, you can enjoy the beauty of the side by river Rushikulya. There is one old square shaped deep well also. You can fresh water from this well.

Awesome place - very little known to regular tourists though. People usually visits Tampara lake on the way to Brahmapur but miss this picturesque spot - which is just 12 km away from Tampara and beside NH-16 only.. This fort is almost on the confluence of River Rushikulya and Bay of Bengal. A beautiful place to enjoy the sunset.. but don't stay until evening. As I heard that some drunkard locals disturbs tourists after sunset- as this is a lonely place. But, we dint experience the same..
