Porur Lake - Water in Chennai - Chennai, India

Stayed at one of the hotels near the lake. I could not see any access to the water body. A lake beautification will definitely be very helpful for local janta and tourists.

One of the biggest fresh water lake inside the chennai metro city limits, there are no legal entry point into the lake side, there are gates which are locked, but you can go inside through the sides of those gates. A lot of fishing happens here are you can find those local fish near the lake at porur market on most days evening and on sunday throughout.

The government want to make it like a park & walking place. Lake should be more clean. People must not enter to the water. Some of them the public make water dirty. Don't allow the public to water. Pls

Fresh water lake mainly for water supply. Not intended for tourism. It look great to see and its covered by fence to prevent trespassers entry. One apartment has encroached at the back, which is not a good thing.

After migjaum cyclone 2023 rainfall.

Good place to enjoy the nature vibes with family and friends. But there is no maintains in the walking path ways. There is no lights so we can go there by 5pm to 6 30pm.

I'm going there in cycle it's kinda near though for me but a challenge that I'm going in cycle u all should try too

Roadside fresh water fish available at reasonable price .... Bargain is must
