Porur Lake - Lake in Chennai - Coromandel, India

Walking not allowed now.

Big lake is shrinked down. Only after fencing tresspassers are not getting in. Government or self help groups should take care of this lake as this is one of the sources of drinking water for the city. When water is less, they can make deep in several areas of the lake, by taking the debris or sand and store more water than usual and avoid overflow during heavy rainfall.

Very large space for the lake, has been reduced by the construction of the flyover, the depth has also been reduced to a minimum, reservoir supplies water to the city dwellers..even after a week of heavy rain it's half full..??

It's Porur cricket ground now and not lake anymore. Completely dried up. :( Please save water !
