Port Ville Art Cafe at Corporation road Calicut Beach. What impressed me the most was their theme. "Music, Art, Literature and Food" One of the rarest places to bring contradictions to a table. As a part of the inauguration I had the opportunity to taste all of their cuisines and each one tasted better than the other. The book "IKIGAI" is enough to know the depths of the cafe's library. Where there is a clap box, guitars and other instruments that move with the rhythm of the lyrics. The colors and brushes that interact with the drawing board in the beautiful ambiance.

A bit disappointing for an art cafe. Food is strictly average. There is a lot of scope in improvement in overall professionalism. They had a printed menu and a photostat add on main course menu, which seems to be around many weeks old and got dirty with rolled up edges and grease . Half of the things on menu weren't available ( Waiter said that they withdrew some dishes as people didn't like taste!) We ordered 4 dishes. Despite being only customers on a Saturday night, they bought dishes one at a time. Fish in Fish and chips had a hard thick crust. Steak was the last dish to arrive, still it was not warm when they served it. Loaded fries were wet and soggy. None of the dishes were visually appealing. Cutlery, tissue or mat weren't there on the table and had to be requested . Despite being an art cafe, it was dead silent when we arrived. Ambience can be improved by tweaking interior lighting. Staff need to be retrained to show a bit more professionalism. Serving , ambience and presentation is more important than taste for such restaurants. Unless they make dishes visually appealing with better presentation and weekends more alive, this restaurant is unlikely to survive for long.

The ambience is really great. Has an unique set up and cab have music programs there. The food quality was superb. Totally worth it

Ordered fish and chips and beef barbeque steak. The fish and chips was ok but can't say the same for the steak. Ordered a medium rare steak only to get a steak that was uncooked in the middle and well done on the sides. When asked about it, chef was dismissive about it and basically made a fool of us saying that the steak was medium rare throughout. All this after paying the price of Rs700+ for it. Better save up your money and order something else.
