Poovar Boating: With Gaviya Tours - Boat club in Poovar - Thiruvananthapuram, India

We went for a boating with Gaviya tours Poovar yesterday. I got the contact from Google and it was a smooth arrangement though done on phone. The ride was smooth and calm. The guide cum driver was very informative and showed the different types of birds met on the way. Went to poovar beach also to watch sunset but unfortunately the clouds took away the joy! Overall a wonderful experience and will definitely recommend them for boating in Poovar.

Great tour at sunset, at a fair price of 1200 rupees. We were coming back from a day tour to Kanyakumari and decided to stop by poovar to do the backwater boating. I contacted Gaviya on WhatsApp and booked for that evening. I was a bit surprised that they sent me super precise location and pictures of their house, but I understood later why. I didn't tell my driver I had booked, so initially he took me to his "recommendation", which was 2500 rupees for only 1 hour tour. The people there were hawkers and tried really hard to convince us to go with them, even lying that companies who book online cannot go everywhere. I insisted and got to Kingfisher club (operated by Gaviya), where mister Robert gave us the boat. I had to use the pictures I got on WhatsApp to make sure I was at the right place. We were lucky to have a silent boat, which our driver, Lula, was skillful in maneuvering. He got us really close to birds, and he had good eyes, showing us ones that we didn't notice. We were often stopped at birds that he observed, while other boats were just speeding past us. And as you can see from the pictures, we saw all parts, not just the beach like the lier before was claiming. So I'm really glad we got to the real club, a good price, a silent boat and a skillful driver.

Boat ride was superb...Captain of the boat was very good, polite and could communicate well. We came to know the previous day boating was closed due to rain. We had to leave from poovar the next day at 9.30 am but thanks to the booking Executive lady who called me the very next day at 6.30 am and mentioned boating had started.

Hi, if you planning to visit poovar island and want to enjoy backwaters at affordable price , then this boat service is for you, they offer very genuine price of booking full boat with 6 passengers capacity at just 1200, while other boat service clubs offer at 5000 to 6000 INR. Thanks to kingfisher boat service for saving my money, all the places covered at ease and service was very good.

Me and my partner did a 2hr Shakira boat ride, and were blown away by our boat trip. The waterways are much narrower and quieter in comparison to what you find in Allepey making it a better spot for pictures & videos. We arranged our boat trip the day before we went, I'm not sure of the name of the person I spoke to on WhatsApp but they were incredibly helpful and responsive, they even organised a taxi for us to be picked up in Trivandrum and dropped off in Varkala after our boat trip, all for a very affordable price. I would definitely recommend this company for a tour!

I went to Poovar on 12th Sep'23 on the occassion of first birthday of my son. I talked over the phone after reviewing the Google reviews. I am happy that I took the decision to go with Gaviya team. It was Ajin who attended me and showed me the backwater in the best possible manner. He clicked our pictures without us asking him it. He went to all the places and without making any noise even though other boats were not going to Mangroves, Ajin showed us everything very generously. Other boat guys will tell you 3500 with bill and 3000 without bill and they will say that other people's are scamsters and you shouldn't go to any unauthorised boats. Take my word all the boats running in Poovar are authorised and everybody has the board saying government authorise rate is 3500 for two person. I am happy that Gaviya gave us the whole boat for two people in 1200 rupees and we had a fun time of 1.5 hours. Thanks everyone
