Awesome place, awesome house, awesome people

We spent two nights here as part of a two week trip to India with driver organised by Indian company Icon Tours (highly recommended). We could have stayed here much longer. The environment is stunning with views right across the backwater canal

Staying at Pooppally's Heritage Homestay is by far the best way to explore and enjoy the backwaters. Whether on foot along the paths or on a day trip on small boat, you can navigate the narrow community canals and see much more of life beside the water in Kerala. Everything about this homestay; the location, accomodation, the fabulous beds, food, garden and the optional cooking class are outstanding and a real pleasure. What really sets Pooppally's Homestay apart though is the care and attention given by the hosts.
