Poondi Madha Basilica - Basilica in Poondi - Thanjavur, India

This church, just 1km from my home, is a cherished retreat with a serene atmosphere. The beautiful architecture and convenient proximity make each visit delightful. The added bonus of a children's park from 9 am to 5 pm enhances its family-friendly appeal. Overall, it's a multifaceted haven of peace and recreation in my neighborhood. Thirukkattupalli, 3km from the church, has plenty of hotels and shops. Note that options near the church might be costly; exploring in Thirukkattupalli could be more budget-friendly.

Such a lovely, peaceful and religious place to visit and pray. The entire church was so beautiful. They kept the surroundings clean and tidy. There were a lot of space for parking. Had an amazing experience during the visit. And there was also a small canteen for food and snacks. We spent some time inside the church. It felt so peaceful.

This is a Roman Catholic Christmas Basilica (Special Church) in Trichy area. Church building is beautiful, dedicated for Mother Mary (called Poondi Madha). Believed to have a small piece of relic from the original cross on which Jesus was crucified. Very serene and peaceful environment for praying. The premises is neatly maintained. Has a big parking area, restrooms (paid ones), restaurants and snack counters, few bird enclosures, small park for devotees to rest, a open rosary garden for praying rosary, a grotto and a stage for conducting any functions. Has drinking water taps installed. There's an adoration chapel at the first floor of the church for an even more peaceful prayers. The masses are in Tamil. One can spend 30 minutes to couple of hours based on their indulgence level. Have a great time at this place and pray for us.

One of the famous matha churches. People from different places come to worship. Peaceful divine place. Maintained nicely. Entry fees are charging for parking vehicles, children play areas n even for toilets.

Religious place, very good atmosphere, holy place every Christian must visit this church, have lodge facilities , restaurant and children park available for entertainment

It was a nice place to worship mother Mary , lot of greenery , birds ,and kids would definitely enjoy the place , The restaurant inside is not that good ,they could improve the seating and atmosphere, no adoration inside it's not a AC restaurant so at least they can open the windows , not pleasant inside ,we just came out without having anything there
