If you are interested in boating, then it's a fine place. But nothing else than that. Beautiful scenery.. boating depends on the amount we pay. They have family boats for max 7 people a trip. Individual ticket boats are also available. Short round is for 20 minutes. The long one is for around 30 mins. Don't plan for a trip to this place alone, if u r crossing this place, then visit it.. or else it doesn't worth traveling so long to go for boating. You can buy fresh live fish here. Few hotels are around. Fresh fried fish is food. But meals and Chinese items are not worthy. If you are planning for a trip, you can take your food and buy fish fries there. Or plan for your food outside. Paid Washrooms are there and it's clean only.

They offer two boat ride services of Rs100 & Rs30 per person. The one with Rs100 per person is an amazing one with 20 minutes of ride time. These people are also friendly

A beautiful place and a boating experience for a small picnic. Those who travel to salem yercaud Bhavani Mettur should never miss this wonderful experience. Hot fresh river fish fry is available right near the boat house.

Boating was Good but Boat was Worst! In this Boat, no safety measures follows. But Another Boat Safety tube & life jacket Availavle. They Charged only 10Rs for Up then 10Rs for Down. Its Worthyyy!

The scenic view with the mountain in the backdrop is eye catching. Nice place for a small gathering. The ferry ride connecting two districts is a fresh information while I got there. Fairly maintained Lake with few hundred travelers and tourists come to the place for a half day fun and refreshment. Ferries were not that good to applaud the maintenance. The lake needs to be guarded at the boarding location as it may cause mishaps. The entire locality needs to be developed for tourism. Quite tasty fishes are available here. Food is also good at the nearby hotels.

I travelled to Poolampatti boat house from Erode through the route to Nerunjipettai which is again on the way to Mettur. Just follow the map and it takes you to the spot correctly. The boat ride is about 15 to 20 mins (to and fro) which takes you to Poolampatti which is other side of the cauvery river. You need to buy a ticket to board the boat. We just wanted the boat ride so we returned on the same boat. The views are awesome and mesmerizing. This is a daily boat operating to and fro and is a shared one. If you are interested in an exclusive boat then you can take the speed boat and this one covers little more distance. A bigger round. We also covered the famous Tharamangalam Kailasanathar Swamy temple. Do cover this temple for its architectural brilliance.

beautiful place on Earth with pathetic tourist conditions. This Poolampatti River View point 1 is at bus stand, bit crowded, hot and there is no shade to rest for a while during daytime. Only shade is a three seater concrete seat but that will be occupied by those who give tickets for boat ride. It was very painful for me to observe often that tourists here don't even have proper shade to take rest after coming about 50 kms from Salem. Those who are new don't know places where they can "relax". About 200 meters from here in north direction, in front of Govt Veterinary hospital is Poolampatti River View Point 2, read my review there. Hereabouts, in summer, one must stand in hot sun, wait for boat to arrive and cross the river bank. Usually, they take shelter in shops, something that should not happen to tourists. As it is a village, city people won't like being there for long time. Being here, at Poolampatti River View Point 1 even for 10 min makes people uncomfortable. Their only consolation is the beautiful mighty river Kaveri and the jolly boat ride. It is a wonder why Salem Tourism has not done anything to keep the tourists comfortable here. There is not a single seat alloted for any tourist to this village at Poolampatti except at Poolampatti River View Point 2 but that also will be of crow's excreta, one cannot sit there too. Usually, they sit on their own vehicles two wheelers or four wheelers. A beautiful place with pathetic tourist conditions.
