We four, all ladies team booked a jeep for 3 days from pollachi jeep tourism... to cover valparai, Athirapalli, parambikulam and Topslip... had an amazing time. The jeep was awesome and special mention to the driver/co-ordinator Mr. Maniraj.. He was very co-operative and helped us in all ways possible to make our trip memorable.. And a big thanks to Mr. Selva... your act of giving a short send off visit when we were being dropped back at the pollachi bus stop was a lovely gesture.. Thank you, pollachi jeep tourism, for being a part of the beautiful memories that we have created... that we can look back fondly over the years to come...

One of the best trips we have had ever!!! Pollachi Jeep Tourism, managed by Mr Selvaji is value for money - for those crazy nature lovers. You get to enjoy the nature in its entirety as you travel in the open jeep and free from the hassle of driving yourself. A well mannered tour adviser, Mr Selvaji ensures that we get priority treatment on Elephant ride etc at Parambikulam. We would love to do another trip soon, as I and everyone in my family enjoyed the trip thoroughly.

Long story short - If you want to have once in lifetime rewarding hours in Pollachi then you should really go for this. Here is the long story - I was returning from Kerala after attending my friend's wedding. My plan was to stop and roam in Pollachi for a day en-route to Chennai. The previous day I had no idea about my plans in Pollachi. I took the number from TripAdvisor and made a call, on the other side a person introduced himself as Selva and he sounded kind and approachable. I told him I am looking for a one day trip to Topslip. He pointed the link in his website for the tariff details and asked me to check and get back to him. This to me is an approach I would welcome. Instead of bargaining, having a tough time, he has the details and the price put up in his website. You can choose from the available options and it really helps to narrow down your initial decision. I told him I will be opting for Top-slip-Parambikulam trip. He enquired me about the stay and i said I have no idea and he suggested me a budget hotel near the Pollachi bus stop. The hotel was decent and reasonably priced. The next day we decided to start at 7.30 AM. I got down from the hotel and was surprised to see the Jeep (Gypsy). Selva is the person who is owner cum driver for it. I didn't expect that I will see him in shorts and coolers. I got into the Gypsy and within 5 minutes i started sharing a good conversation with Selva. He was explaining about Pollachi, its geography, its major exports and why he prefers Parambikulam instead of Topslip (Parambikulam is the last hill stop and you will be passing through Topslip). Topslip is poorly maintained by TN Govt whereas the Kerala government maintains Parambikulam. They maintain it so well and the place greets you with their signature warmth. Don't get carried away by the heading "Parambikulam Tiger Reserve". If you have luck you can spot a tiger but it is rare as the tigers will be mostly inside forest. The trip is rewarding if you want to enjoy the forest air, vista views, the light and shadow play by the sunlight instead of having an ambition just to spot a tiger. I could spot many birds on the way sitting inside the jeep which includes - Green Bee Eater, Peahen, Peacock, Lesser Golden Flameback Woodpecker, Racket Tailed Drongo, Indian Golden Oriole, Rufous Treepie. I was lucky to get a glimpse of all these birds in their natural habitat and i even spotted a Cobra snake near the dam area. All through the trip till evening, Selva was very kind and gentle. We discussed a lot of stuffs and he was like a best-friend figure within short span of time knowing him.The Kerala govt. runs a restaurant in Parambikulam and you get some first class breakfast and lunch cooked by the local people. Selva can help you choose how to get the best out of the day. He dropped me back at 4 PM and I had some extra areas covered and took some long time in each spot to experience things a little longer and he charged me reasonable. Normally if you deviate from the original plan you would be charged heavy but Selva was genuine. He understands what kind of person you are and based on your expectation he tries to make the best out of the trip. I would give my highest recommendation in choosing his Jeep trip if you wanted a 1or 2 day sight-seeing in Pollachi . Bonus : 1. Sitting inside all open Gypsy you could feel the fresh air splicing your body 2. The Gypsy is in good condition, I am 6.1 ft tall and I had no troubles. 3. Selva can suggest you some reasonable budget hotels so that you don't waste money for the stay 4. He has a earned a good name for himself in this business and almost all the Kerala govt.forest officials know him. We had 13 ladies with an age range of 60 to 70 yrs Your arrangement in parambikulam and Valparai is very nice with good and neat arrangements with excellent soft veg food. Had an amazing trip to Valparai with Pollachi Jeep Tourism. Their professionalism, timeliness and knowledge of the places to visit, recommendation for food, local culture was really impressive. Special mention of how they dynamically modified their itinerary when rain made it impossible to visit Thirumurthi falls. They replaced it with a day trip to Top Slip that turned out to be the real highlight of the trip. The kids loved the open Jeep experience and did not want the trip to end. We had booked for half day ride in Jeep with no expectations for the day but it turned out to be one of the most beautiful rides we had ever taken. Pollachi and valparai are best explored with locals. Mr.ponnusamy was very friendly, polite and content driver who showed all over pollachi and estates above. No words can explain the experience. Just book with them and sit back enjoy!
