Pobitora bird and Rhino Watch Tower - Wildlife park in Kahjuli Pathar, Chengmari Gaon - Marigaon, India

How to reach - Hire a private taxi, almost 40 km from gauhati city. Best time - November to march ( do check if sanctuary is operational or not before planning a trip) closed during monsoon period due to flooding caused by brahmaputra river Nearby stay location - Pankhiraj resort( sharing some pics of pankhiraj resort also),arya resort,zizinia resort. Safari - Elephant safari (best) but available only in morning from 6 am to 7 am. Two shift of almost 30 people each. Cost 500 per person Jeep safari - 1800 for six people. For lesser no of people 1700 Boat safari - 2000 per boat but advisable during high water as dolphins may be spotted. Nearby places - mayong mueseum and road bridge where rhinoes and wild Buffalo can be spotted easily grazing on the fields.

Amazing and once in a lifetime chance to see the great Indian one horned rhino up-close and personal. Being a very small area with a high population density, the chances of missing out ona sighting during season time is nearly impossible. Keep safari goes on from ,7am-3pm , of one hour duration. An armed guard and guide come along. I went with zero hopes and spotted 7-8 rhinos up close ! It was thrilling and worth the travel.

Pobitora is always one of my most favorite places.. On my recent visit, I saw 22 Rhinos just in the open area near to the watch tower. This is an wonderland, excellent place for birding, jeep safari etc. There are lot of eateries near Pobitora who serves ethnic foods.

Nice place to connect with wildlife. The park has migratory birds and rhinos. Wild pigs and buffaloes too that one can see. A lot of ducks, storks and wonderful sunsets .

Pobitora is one of the wildlife sanctuary of Assam where we can view lots of one horned Rhino . And also varieties of birds . The bird and rhino viewing point is a place where you can halt your car and enjoy the view of nature with fresh air . Though the road towards Pobitora is bit challenging as there are many humps and holes in between .

Great place to watch Rhino and migratory birds at free of cost. Pollution free lonely area.

Beautiful birding spot of migratory birds, rhinos watcher's delight, wild water buffalos ...... bountiful of nature all around. Plus a great sunset to top it up.

You can see the Rhinos standing on the road itself! I was not carrying my camera, took the pics from my cellphone. Beautiful place, worth visiting
