Pilikula Nisargadama is one of the tourist places in Mangaluru. We visited on a weekday. There were only very few animals and birds. The place could be maintained and made more attractive to the tourists. Overall a good experience. It's ok for one time visit. They also have their vehicles to take the tourists around. Monday is a week off.
Our whole experience was OK. Went in to the Biological garden first and was disappointed looking at the state of animals and birds. Lion & Tigers looked like they were starved. Was shocked to see the Tigers soo thin!! Deers enclosure was small for their numbers. Birds crammed into small cages. Bears too were so thin. Wasn't happy looking at all those. Instead of focusing just on the money collection they would look at improving the state of the park and making life bearable for those poor creatures stuck living there till they die! Next we visited the Guthu house, Heritage village. It was good overall. An insight into how it all was in the past. So small peak into the history. Then we visited the Lake Garden. Beautiful & colorful plants all around. Absolutely mesmerising. Garden walkway is covered with flowering plants on either side. Ducks playing in the vicinity. The serene & calm lake. Just too good to miss if you are at this place. Due to time constraints we couldn't visit the other places. Also tired from the summer heat we decided to head out. Overall it was just Okay. Lake is nice and lush greenery makes it worth visiting again and again if we are in the vicinity. But other than that, it was ok
Another overrrated attraction near mangalore. I There were multiple attractions like lake garden, planetaurium , zoo safari etc. There is car parking area with fees. I found they are not cordinating various attraction. If you want to go for another attraction you may want to go to entrance to get ticket. Out of attraction we visited, Zoo was better
As a North Indian who has grown up by seeing South Indians movies, it was a wonderful experience for us. We planned it for family and loved it It brought us the South Indian (the TuluNadu) culture alive before us. The house is no secret now after Kantara movie, but seeing it in real gave us an opportunity to peep into the local life. Calm and real The house is well kept. Washrooms are available and are clean. Do visit it
The garden is very well maintained and there are always new plants and those flowering each time we visit. There are ducks in plenty both pets and wild by the lake. There is a new aquarium where you can see fish. The walk to the garden within is quiet a lot plus the inside. So take your car till the entrance. There are peddle boats, motor boats available at the lake for a fair price. This place has good drinking water and toilet facility.
There are a lot of options. It's a combo of activities viz zoo, lake garden, planetarium , boat service, science garden etc. Ticket charges : 170 without a planetarium and 220 including a planetarium. Good place to bring kids and also for school tours. Apart from these there is a water theme park also. You can spend one day fully.
It is a perfect destination for both weekenders and focussed nature enthusiasts alike. Main attractions are Science center, Planetarium, Heritage village , botanical garden, zoo and the lake. This eco-friendly park has a battery of battery operated vehicles for transportation within. A whole day is needed to just cover just a few places. For people having special botanical interests two days might be required. The 86 acre botanical gardens has a painstakingly developed 6 acre medicinal plants section. The Nisargadham has a guest house and a nearby jungle lodge too, for accomodation. A must-visit place in Mangaluru... just over 10 kms from city center.
It is a great holiday spot. Atleast make sure you visit it early and I would recommend take the transport service from the management end, the buggy costs 40rs per head. In zoo also get the buggy ride which costs you 100per head saves lots of time and energy. Not much of animals tbh. All in one package is good if you are with full family. Don't forget the planetarium(3D), guthu Mane also the park nearby where you find boat service. oh I forgot to add science and botanical museum Manasa water park is also available but you need to pay them separately. So if you are planning a trip with family make sure it be 2 days one. 270 per head for all the places except manasa water park. And 40rs per head for the buggy.
