PetZone Goa Veterinary Clinic - Veterinarian in Sangolda - North Goa, India

Getting my pet treated here was the biggest mistake of my life. An otherwise healthy 2-year old cat, he died after 5 days of treatment here & they couldn't even tell us what happened to him. He was misdiagnosed on day 1. We saw the same vet who misdiagnosed him, prescribe meds meant for a dog to a cat during one of our visits & was called out by the owner. (To clarify after their reply: My cat wasn't prescribed wrong meds. On July 3rd, branch owner & surgeon Dr Leena was screaming at the same Doctor that he had prescribed a medicine to a cat that was meant for a dog & she herself called him negligent - in front of all the waiting customers there, including us. It was some other patient but it was the same vet who misdiagnosed our cat with gingivitis, which he didn't have, and thus we ended up losing 2 days which may have saved his life. I mentioned these incidents because this is not ok and a serious red flag for any pet owner). On day 3, they did an X-ray which should have been done on Day 1. He was given laxatives for an obstruction in his stomach. A second opinion from a different doc told us laxatives can be dangerous without an ultrasound. We took him back for an ultrasound. Initially, they said if laxatives dont work within a few hours, he will need surgery. But they gave him laxatives for 2 full days till we had enough of watching him suffer & requested an emergency surgery. I'd like to specifically mention how insensitive Dr Leena was to my request of some phone number that i can call in case of emergency. She made an inappropriate joke that if we call her before 5am, whatever it may be, she wont come as she'd be with her dog. I expected some compassion from not just the owner of the place, but also a pet owner herself. I started calling at 5:30am that morning as he looked very sick. In spite of how serious it was, they opened at their regular time of 9:30. We waited outside with our extremely sick cat for 1 hour before they got there. The pre-op tests found his platelets too low for surgery & an infection in his lungs. They then told us his platelets had been quite low the previous day too but they hadn't raised concern then. They couldn't operate. He passed away that evening in a lot of pain. We are traumatised by this experience. Not one of them spoke to us after we informed them that he died. To this day, we dont know what happened. To Petzone: Your team is aware of the state we were in that evening. It had been hours after being told he can't be operated on & we had no idea what to do next. We begged every vet there to pls explain whats going on. Is he critical, is going to make it, should we prepare ourselves? Not one of them told us how serious or bad the situation was. How many times did I have to request for Dr Leena to come downstairs from her admin & "merger" work to please answer our questions as Dr Karla wasn't there - who btw was his doctor & had told us clearly that she would be there that evening? It was only when i finally insisted on going up to talk to Dr Leena myself & broke down in front of her, that she finally said 'it's not looking good'. That's it. Yes we loved him a lot, without a doubt, but this is not an angry rant. We spoke to multiple pet parents, doctors and even NGOs after this happened & 85% of them expressed mistrust of Petzone & said they would only take a pet there for scans, as most clinics in Goa don't have that facility. For this reason, and after a lot of thought, I put this review here so that it may benefit someone else like us who is new to Goa and decides to take their pet here. You can say you don't agree with the "accusations" but each detail mentioned here is a fact. You did your best but mistakes were made too. For us, Petzone was a bad decision. We continued there cuz we felt the doctors were friendly with our cat but in hindsight, im not sure that matters if they didn't tell us how serious he was. We really believed he would be ok. People should know what to expect: A SECOND OPINION IS A MUST FOR PETS BEING TREATED HERE.

PetZone clinic at Porvorim provided exceptional care for my pet, combining expertise with genuine compassion. The team of doctors was attentive and went above and beyond to make both me and my kid feel comfortable. A special shoutout to Dr.Diana for taking the effort and time to explain every single thing in detail to calm down an anxious parent like me :) I highly recommend this state of the art clinic for their professionalism and dedication to animal well-being. Penny was rescued on 26 th Jan outside the walls of a garbage dump yard. She had an open wound about 4 inches in diameter on her back infested with maggots. We rushed her to the local wet where her wound was cleaned and painkillers administered along with antibiotics. The following day Penny was not passing urine nor stools for the longest time. After 48 hours of no bowel movement we brought her in to PetZone. Here the doctor immediately took an ultrasound to discover an inflamed bladder. The infection was so severe that it would have been fatal if not for the quick actions for the doctors and support staff and PetZone. Thank you peeps you guys are the best. To everyone else that will go after reading this, expect only professionalism, sophisticated medical attention and absolute care for our all furry friends (or non furries) Today Penny is nearly 3 months old and is lives a healthy but extremely naughty life. Thank you once again to everyone at PetZone. FYI they also have a pharmacy so getting medications is no hassle.

We had visited the clinic with Poppins, our female cat, for sonography and treatment of suspected Ovarian remnant. During this process we found out that she was diagnosed with stump pyometra too. The diagnosis and treatment by Dr. Karla was slow and inadequate, although she was prompt at her replies if we had any queries. She even read one of the sonography wrong saying that she could see a mirror image of the bladder, whereas it was the pyometra and it had grown to the size of a bladder which was life threatening. The entire case was playing out for 4 months now. Even at that stage there was no clear diagnosis so we had to go look for other doctors. Overall we found a delay in treatment considering the severe condition. We finally got her operated and the doctors managed to get the remnant as well as pyometra out and she is now fine. For such complicated cases I would recommend Dr.Nikhil and team from Pawsitive or Dr.Adrian and Dr.Anushka from Vetyard. They guided us very well and expedited the treatment.

I have been a regular visitor for my pet's health issues and would really like to appreciate their deep understanding of my pet. Big thanks for taking such good care always.

Reliable. I can just be carefree if I take my pets there. They genuinely care about your pet and are able to handle even aggressive ones very lovingly just by communicating with them. The helpers there are also amazingly caring towards your pet. Basically I like that they treat your pet like it's your child. I really love vets that are friendly with pets and PetZone dr's really are!

Great place for pets to get the help and medication they need. Doctors are well trained and take good care. It my first time at this place and was impressed the way they work. Great team. Must visit for medications and help for pets.
