Perantala Palli Boating Point - Tourist attraction in Parentapalle - West Godavari, India

We had a pilgramage trip to bhadrachalam and found little time for this river cruising. Please allocate one full day for this. It takes almost 11 to 12 hours to complete and return to your accommodation in bhadrachalam. Very first thing, the cruise operators around the temple are only aggregators. You can pay with anyone and you will end up having the same experience, so don't worry. No one reduces the price, it is the same. I think rs1500 pp. The tour operator mentions "a vehicle" will come to pick you, we all assume a decent innova, qualis and likes but it is a mere share auto type vehicle only. They ask you report at 730 in the morning. Around 8 or so if all the paid passengers arrive, they start the vehicle. It is a rickety road and a bad vehicle, we continue for about 1 5 hours to reach the perantla pallii boat jetty. Before we reach this point, the vehicle driver stops at a village that is last village we get the mobile service and fruits or snacks that you want to purchase, can be done here. In another 20 or 25 mins the jetty point comes. Through out the way one can find chilli farms, with the bright red chillies being sun dried is a scene on its own. Photos are a must here with contradicting green and red colors from nature with sky being blue. Dont sleep and miss this, though people do fall asleep, since the vehicle open and airy. Upon reaching the jetty, they provide basic breakfast to all the passengers, near the jetty there are washrooms available but need to pay for the same. After breakfast around 1030 to 11, the ferry starts to cruise the river. Ferry is good, washroom available inside the ferry too . Event managers team are engaged by the ferry operators to kill the boredom, they do decent job. It is a 35 kms ferry ride in the massive godavari river. From road to jetty point, lot of steps to be climbed up and down inorder to board and deboard the ferry. Elders may find it challenging but lot of them do visit despite these small inconveniences, the youth in the village, help everyone. The lunch and water bottles are also loaded in the ferry while everyone has the breakfast. Once the sail starts, everything is very scenic, there is only one alighting point where there is a small but peaceful temple maintained by ramakrishna mutt for the tribals. Carry snacks if you are specific about few brands. But tribal villages also sell lays, kurkure etc, i suggest you all to buy from them and encourage their business. After this alighting point, when everyone is back to ferry, the sail resumes parallel with lunch in the lower deck. Lunch was basic, but very tasty, event management team does take care of serving etc. Even old people too can have the food provided by them unless they are on some restricted diet. No need to carry food from bhadrachalam. Then full of river crusing only until around 430 in the evening, you get to see paapi kondalu at close which is very beautiful as they are perfectly partitioned, hence the name. In telugu "paapiti" means partion made in hair. This word corrupted to become "paapi kondalu". "Kondalu" is hills in telugu. Many villages we pass by but dont alight, they are tribal villages. Once we reach the jetty point finishing our trip, we are welcomed with snacks and tea/coffee. After finishing them board our rickety vehicle to return to bhadrachalam. River cruising is beautiful with magnificent Godavari, once in a lifetime experience, please go for it. Carry cash as no atm cards or upi is available here. No heavy jewelry is needed, wear lighter cotton dresses. No worry, the ferry is very airy. ITC is helping lot of the tribal villages which is commendable job.

A very beautiful and scenic spot for taking pictures as the big eastern ghats appear in full glory in front of us and the deep godavari flows upfront with no sign of human touch anywhere just forest and us. Nearby the tribals sell the hand made artworks and some cashew and other tribal products

Papikondalu Boating, best time to visit this thrilling and mind calming journey. Climate was very pleasant. Before planning to visit here, check the climate, make sure its not too sunny or rainy. Best time to visit: October to January

A day hangout with friends costed 1000 to 1500 per person a round ferry ride including breakfast and lunch. We can buy water and few drinks on the boat . They charge extra for that.

Simply Superb. Boating Point is at Pochavaram (East Godavari Dist) 72 kms from Bhadrachalam. You need to purchase the trip package (many options available) at Bhadrachalam or Rajahmundry. It's a Syndicate so all prices will be same. For 1 day trip from Pochavaram to Papikondalu and back to Pochavaram is 1000 Rupees for this you need to come by your own vehicle however the ticket purchase needs to be done at Bhadrachalam. There is another package for then who doesn't have vehicles. 1250 rupees, they will take you from Bhadrachalam to Pochavaram in Sharing Autos and drops you back in Bhadrachalam. Both Packages include Breakfast and Lunch. Lunch is sumptuous and tasty is served at Parantalapally. There is no Mobile network here so it's better you download the offline maps while travelling by own vehicles. Roads are drivable and are decent any small car also can go there. Boats are very safe to travel and total duration is 5 hours. You will have lot of in house entertainment's on the boat. The views are breathtaking. If you are going as a group then you can plan for a night stay at Kolluru Bamboo huts. Once in a lifetime experienc if you stay there.

It was unique experience traveling in the lap of mother nature for half day. It gives you an isolated feeling that only you and nature have that connect finally. I recommend carrying cash. Drink loads of fluid once on board. I recommend visiting this place before big project closes this place down permanently. #papidikondalu
