Suitable for minor diseases and for students and employees of Visva-Bharati. It is very clean and the facilities are quite better than some private hospitals nearby. Beds and meals provided to the patients are of good quality. You can find the routine of doctors, who will be present, at te entrance. Cons: sometimes blood test done here does not give correct result. So you should better test it from outside. Although it has some pretty good range of free medicines, you have to buy others from outside. My verdict: Overall it is a good hospital.

A good hospital with many facilities. The hospital area is large. The rooms and wards are very clean. There are different wards for male and female. The hospital is free for Visva Bharati Stuff and Students. there is lot of parking space and waiting space. A plenty of doctors are there, but not all are so good!

Took a friend very early in the morning, good attention while admitting the patient. They do not have any arrangement for supplying drinking water to patients. All patients are required to have their own water bottle which the attendants fill up. Rest hospital is as good as a provincial hospital.

The hospital is an integral part of Visva Bharati (a central university founded by Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore) that caters to the basic needs of the staffs and students of the university. Earlier till recently, it also extended it's services to the ex employees and locals in need, but recently indoor facility for them has been discontinued by the authority. It facilitates basic pathology, X ray and USG facility. Medicine specialists are good. The district itself has a skeletal medical facility and thus the hospital has practically no scope than to give first aid and to refer serious patients to Burdwan or Durgapur, which are well equipped with medical infrastructures.

Santiniketan is a place where Rabindranath Tagore started his Ashram School in 1901. Later on, he established the Visva-Bharati University in 1921 for advanced study and research. As Santiniketan is situated in rural Bengal, far away from Kolkata, he felt the special need of health services for scholars, researchers, students coming from different parts of the country and abroad, and also for others living in and around Santiniketan. To meet this need the building of Pearson Memorial Hospital started in 1927 at Santiniketan. W. W. Pearson was a friend of India and died at a young age. But, the growth of this hospital falls much short of expectation. As a consequence, the health of the scholars, researchers, students and others in the University could not be assured.
