Pavitra Ladies Hostel - Working Women's Hostel in Kochi, Ernakulam - Ernakulam, India

My attempt to secure admission at Pavithra Hostel turned into a nightmare. Despite ample parking space, the warden, also the owner, rudely dismissed my request for parking. When I asked politely, she swiftly denied me admission and arrogantly instructed me to find parking on my own.she even told me to take my belongings, close the gate, and leave in an arrogant nature. Upon further inquiry, I discovered a multitude of negative reviews, highlighting various concerning aspects. The hostel does not provide food, demanding an additional payment for it. Moreover, it restricts daytime occupancy, requiring extra fees for working professionals who is working from home a policy inconsistent with other similar hostels in Cochin. Notably, the ban on using electrical equipment, including essentials like an iron, sets unreasonable limitations. The warden's hostility extended far beyond mere refusal and restrictions. Her enforcement of a draconian atmosphere, including locking the gate during daylight hours, transformed the hostel into a stifling and unwelcoming space reminiscent of a prison rather than a safe and hospitable residence. This hostel's abysmal treatment, outrageous lack of essential facilities, and the warden's unapologetic rudeness are beyond comprehension. I implore prospective residents to steer clear of this establishment unless they are willing to subject themselves to an environment that not only lacks hospitality but also disregards basic human decency.

I have been staying here for almost 2 years. I would suggest this hostel to anyone as it is nicely maintained and very safe. Comfortable and clean rooms and bathrooms. The owner is very helpful and friendly as well.

Worst place I've ever stayed ! Charges money for even the basic ammenities ! Closes gates at the most earliest nd calls it a working womens hostel ! Which works finish at 7 ? The owner lady too very greedy and rude ! I don't recommend anyone to go there ! Also very expensive !

Iam Priyanka warrior I come from Hyderabad. I stayed in this hostel more than 3 months it was a good and pleasant place to experience. The warden aunty make us to feel like a home experience it's quite and calm it help me a lot to study well. I never felt like I am away from home. She is so supportive and she guides us in a good way and the rules and regulations was good it make us to be stay safe and protected in this hostel. I will suggest this hostel to all women's who all are looking for a pleasant stay.

It is with pleasure that I write this review about my current stay at Pavithra Hostel near Changampuzha metro station in Kochi. First of all, I would like to thank the owner of this hostel for her efforts to keep the hostel and its surroundings well-kept, as well as the rooms. I would like to mention that we are 100% secure in this hostel, especially for college students and students who came from other places to study, take exams, or work. Regarding the rooms, there are three options, according to our financial status, we can either choose a single room or share rooms with two beds or three beds all of which include WIFI, a dining area, filtered water (hot and cold) washing machine(payable per-wash) and Ironing. The timing must be followed, so we should arrive at the hostel by 8.30 pm (if we are stuck in traffic or in any other situation, we can inform her and she will consider it and open the gate after 8.30). The main door will open by 6.30 a.m. It may open earlier depending on our request. These are all signs that the owner is taking special care by maintaining guests' security. In addition to being polite, she is also very cooperative when it comes to her guests. Caution deposits will be refundable at the time of checkout (returning the room without damaging their property and Keys to the cupboards)if any damage or loss is found they will deduct the reasonable amount from our caution deposits. At the time of our arrival, these are clearly stated. This is my first time staying at a hostel and I have found the security and cleanliness to be well worth the price. This hostel is recommended to those who are truly seeking a calm, quiet environment to prepare for their studies.

Worst experience i have ever had. I had stayed many hostels. But this is for the first time am experiencing such a rude behaviour from warden.. She uses very bad language. And she do anything to get money. Only thing she care about is money. Initially they said free wifi, but we are only allowed to connect with mobile, if we need to connect wifi to our lap we need to pay extra amount per month. Also they said washing machine facility is there, for that also we need to pay extra fees per use. Room was good with attached bathroom.10000 rs per month without food. I have stayed there for 2 months. I have payed rent for 2 month and on last day she told me to vacate on morning, i asked her to stay till noon as i already payed rent till that day, but she contionusly torture me and told me she will deduct 700 rs from my caution deposit. She said it is not a hostel it is lodge so i need to pay rent according to that. After all, she intentionally accused me for missing a key to a cupboard., when i joined the hostel itself there was no key to one cupboard in my room, she deducted 450 rs from my caution deposit for that. So be careful not to get trapped there. Expecially if you are planning to stay alone there. I hope it may help for atleast few people.

Nothing but a Daylight Scam Pavithra Ladies hostel is your stereotypical patriarchal hostel from the 1960's. The website boasts about how all facilities are free while in reality you have to pay to use the kitchen, the microwave and the washing machine. Besides you are supposed to pay 1000 extra in monthly rent if you aren't a working professional. You are also charged an extra amount if you want to connect your laptop to the wifi that is sad at best. But if it was just the scam we could have adjusted and put up with the injustice. However, the warden, Ms Mini makes life here absolutely horrible. She must know when you go, where you go and has a comment on everything she gets to know. Mini also takes a soft attendance without an actual roll call and calls up every person who isn't in the hostel. She goes the extra mile of calling her guardians and manipulating the stories. The overall experience was that of a paid prison. While this may all sound like a rant when my friend went home on vacation, for which her parents came and picked her up, Mini got nosy again and had multiple questions over whatsapp about her return and whereabouts. Humble request to stay away if you value mental peace.
