This is a Heritage building at Pathuria Ghat Street, Jorabagan in Kolkata. Build between 1844 - 1846 by Khelat Chandra Ghosh, a 'Diwan' at the court of Warren Hastings. He was an honorary district magistrate too. The building was designed and executed by Martin & Burn company. The facade of the elegant building decorated with imposing columns and arched inner courtyard is an architectural beauty. The imposing mansion boasts of Corinthian pillars decorated with paintings, gorgeous crystal chandeliers and beautiful marble sculptures. The building includes the traditional 'Thakur Dalan' where religious ceremonies are held throughout the year.
Visited this absolutely beautiful , well maintained heritage site during the most auspicious occasion of durga puja . The traditional idol of the goddess and the decorations including the alpona and chadoa made it a great experience.

Top notch , the ambience was very subtle, mesmerizing and pure. You'll feel calmness. The Durga murti that we saw was captivating. On the 6th day of Durga Puja, that is Sosthi we spend almost 2:30 hr there. None of the family members were rude. The maintenance is top notch.
Pathuriaghata rajbari is an epitome of the numerous historic and beautiful architectures Kolkata boasts of. The pristine white marble structure is a delight to visit, especially during Durga Pujo which is celebrated here with pomp.
This Puja is one among the wonderful Banedi barir Durga Puja in north Kolkata that being started by Sri Khelat Chandra Ghosh who was the Diwan of the court of Warren Hestings (British colonial administrator in India). Khelat Chandra Ghosh was famous for his social reforming activity. He was also concerned in cultural, musical and philanthropic activities in Kolkata that time. The trusty of Khelat Chandra Ghosh happens to celebrate Durga Puja at their thakur dalan that made from marbles and also the corridor is incredibly long and encircled by embellished wall. it's a dancing hall too. the whole design take placed by Martin & Burn co.
