The Parsi Fire Temples are inaccessible to non Zoroastrians There are 9 of them 1 in Iran and 8 in India, known as the main temples, and the remaining are smaller temples known as agiarys. This one in the Fory area, is not accessible to non Parsis. One has to just look at the structure from outside and read about whatever information is available on the Net

Heritage Vastu Parsi Fire Temple ZOROASTRIAN IS ONE OF THE world's oldest religions, and Zoroastrians--often called dar-e mehr in Persian-the religion's worshippers. One unique aspect of the Zoroastrian religion is the use of fire in their temples, which are seen as symbolic of the divinity. With only 27 fire temples found outside of India, the highest concentration of fire temples can be found in Mumbai. During the Arab conquest of Persia, Zoroastrians fled to India's Gujarat and Pakistan's Sindh regions in an effort to preserve their religion. The 18th century saw Parsis--descendents of the Iranian Zoroastrians--settle in Kolkata and other parts of India, primarily as a response to open commerce with the East India Company. From the 18th century onward, Mumbai became the religious center and headquarters for Parsis and their fire temples. The Parsi population in Mumbai is the largest in India and have influenced arts, politics, and culture in Mumbai and greater India for centuries. The Fort business district in Mumbai, named to reflect the area around Fort George built by the East India Company, is in between the Victoria Terminus in the north and Kala Ghoda (the Blackstone statue of King Edward II) in the south. The area is home to the Seth Banaji Limji Agiary, a Zoroastrian Fire Temple which is the oldest surviving one in Mumbai.

The Parsi Fire Temple is a Zoroastrian temple and entry is restricted to members of the Zoroastrian community. From the outside the building looks like a fusion of Neo-renaissance and Persian architecture which you can see in the columns, balconies and winged sphinxes. It looks okay, but disappointing entry is for Parsis only.

Fascinating architecture. Unfortunately only zoroastrians are allowed inside. Upkeep is necessary. Bird droppings have collected on the one of the manhorse statues.

This custom has been challenged before the Supreme Court of Indiaafter a Zoroastrian woman was denied entry into Zoroastrian institutions.

Beautiful, but a bit disappointing though that one cannot see the inside.

No entry for non parsi people. Why discrimination? First time I came across religious place that closed for believers in other religions. What's wrong with letting people see temple from inside??? I felt disappointed that I couldn't see it inside and learn the story of their community.

It's very ancient agyari. But now the street is very crowded.
