Parola Fort - Featured Reviews (1832)
Very old and ancient fort belongs to Rani Laxmi Bai's father as says by local people. The fort is not maintained by local authorities, archeology department or any other departments. It is in worst condition . The architecture of fort is very nice . It's very good historical place but at demolition stage .
It's one of the old monuments in jalgaon district. It totally neglected by ASI & local authorities in maintenance. This fort belongs to Rani Laksmi bai. One old shiv temple is the in side the fort mostly people visit that temple on Monday
Built in 16th Century, Parola is one of the finest example of 16th-century architecture with a huge pool and designed gates. It is located on the bank of the Bori river. Like other forts in Maharashtra, here too are some elements in its architecture like bastions and ramparts, made to protect from invaders eyes. There's hardly anything to do at the fort but one shouldn't forget to appreciate its seven entrance doors ('darwaja' in Hindi); of which the main Door called as "Delhi Darwaja" is the classiest one. HISTORY As per the records, the fort was built in 1727 by Great Rani of Jhansi- Lakshmi Bai's father. Hence, Parola is believed to be the native of Rani Laxmibai. GETTING THERE The fort is located in Parola city, approximately 47 kilometers from Jalgaon. To reach here, one can take a bus or car from Jalgaon. Even tongas and rickshaws are easily availabale to reach here. THINGS TO DO & SEE IN AND AROUND Parola is mainly known for its Shree Balaji Temple, which was built 345 years ago. Close to the Shree Balaji Temple is Garudadhwaj. Every year, there is a procession for Shree Balaji which is very famous in Maharashtra and people gather to see the procession. Parola is also famous for the fort, built by Khander Rao around the 16th century. Madkay Maroti is quite prominent too.

Nice place this fort is big & enter get is big and so old parola city balaji old mandir is this temple beautiful.
I loved it This Fort built and used during the late 16th Century, still stands as a reminder of the Kingdoms that existed in those days. The Fort has all facilities like watch towers, ammunition dumps, Soldiers quarters, water storage facilities and of course temples of different deities, mostly defunct now. It will take atleast two hours to explore the entire fort. It's wonderful place to visit with friends, if you're interested in trekking and history,, it's better to take the local guide to know the story of that fort..each stone has his own story wish makes just WoW..special attraction of that place is Obbavvana Kindi..it's amazing!! Must visiting in parola Am a passionate Traveller, Hiker, Biker and photographer. Recently one wild thought came into my mind all these days I travelled on bike to discover places but this time I decided to visit chitradurga but the mode of transportation I choose is to Hitchhiking all the way from Bengaluru to Chitradurga and started at 9:12AM and reached 1:45PM to reach chitradurga I took lift from bike,
It is nice and historically place. Cool place in parola
I wish the District and state authorities, would have done something for this marvelous piece of history, right under their nose. You feel too bad to see its dilapidated state. It's crying for restoration.
