I was looking for an authentic Assamese restaurant and our guide suggested this restaurant. I was planning to go for the Parampara thali however I have pigeons as pets and can't think of eating them so I avoided that. I took the second option, non veg thali and it's awesome. It was less oily and felt very healthy yet tasty. Their ambiance is also nice. It's a very good option for a family lunch or dinner.

This is one of the places that ages like fine wine. I have been coming here since I was a kid, and the charm, food quality as well as the courteous staff never fail to impress me. If you're visiting the North East, this place is should be a must in your go to list.
A place that is a staple in Guwahati (or is it ?) I have been in this place, and one particular server has seen me grow up from a child to an adult. From being pampered with my thali which would have a star shaped rice, to one table in the left corner from the entrance where we would sit; this place has been through changes and the only reason I will not recommend it anymore is because of the price- it's just not worth it sadly. But if you are someone who wants to bask in a tiny bit of the rustic Assamese aesthetic, then nothing other than this place will be recommended by me. Their chicken bamboo shoot curry easily is one of the best I have tasted.
Loved the ambience and the service. Lovely Assamese songs in the background. We got the parampara thali and it had duck meat, mutton, fish of 2 varieties, kheer, dal, pitika(aloo), bamboo, and more cooked in mustard oil. We paid rs. 650 for this and was worth it. We recommend going here.
One of the oldest and best restaurants serving authentic Assamese thalis. Whenever I am in town I make it a point to visit and relish their amazing food. Decor wise it's simple and more authentic Assamese touches can be added to further enhance the feels.
Visited Paradise Restaurant after a very long time and was nicely surprised to see the changes and ambience. It has metamorphosed to something different but better. Food quality remains almost the same, the same authentic mouth watering Assamese cuisine. A must visit for people who appreciate good food. I spent five hundred fifty for a wholesome lunch.
The Addams family recommends this place. Guess the owners must have invested in bad refrigerators, for even reheating the charred food didn't eliminate the putrid smell! The mutton must have come from some zoological museum immersed in formalin, the chicken indistinguishable from card board(specially crafted for "soy boys/girls being my best guess), and the fish....will let your imagination play with that one; never knew "slime" curry was Assamese cuisine! I always thought nostalgia was just a feeling, but these guys take the cake, they served us, for a king's ransom, food from my grand parents' era...literally!!!
